Cats love to play with hair ties and other stringlike objects, but these can be VERY dangerous. One of our patients ate two hair ties that we surgically removed on Monday of last week. The kitty is doing great after surgery but we wanted to highlight the dangers of foreign body ingestion. The hair ties were luckily very easy to identify with a X-Ray so we took the kitty to surgery immediately. Side note - dogs will eat hair ties too so be careful!
