Help Support NonProfit Rescue Cat & Dog FilmMaker
(Film Purpose)

The main purpose for this film is to raise awareness on the continuous act of “dog dumping” that occurs everyday in the Redlands. An area in South Florida that some have designated as a dumping grounds for unwanted dogs. What makes this film especially unique is our subject whose perspective will be shared , Dan. The Redland area is home to Dan. He has dedicated his entire life to caring for abandoned dogs who wander the streets, especially at night to feed. He has witnessed countless homeless dogs in their weakest moments, some he has cared for and couldn’t take in or network have been found dead on the road. The pressure of wanting to help them all has left him depressed, all while managing his own health that has worsened over time. Focusing on 1 person's daily effort to make a difference in the life of as many dogs that he can physically care for, will demonstrate to viewers the effects that dog dumping has on a human being and the community he lives in. The harsh reality is that not every dog will be saved, but this film will allow more people to understand and see what is happening. If more people get involved like Dan, less dogs will suffer and more people will be held accountable for their inhumane actions.

“ Wow, what an experience ! “ Who knew TNR would be both sad and exciting to film. I am forever grateful for the opportunity I had to capture the life of a cat trapper, from beginning to end. The First Trap Neuter Release Movie Ever! What I learned gave me the ability to now advocate for rescue cats from a much deeper place. This is just the first of our “Rural Cites” Film series.

Seeing first hand how most cats and kittens end up in rescue has taught me to appreciate more because of the knowledge I’ve gained.Having Sue, of Good Mews Animal Foundation as a mentor and teacher gave me the real insight that I needed. Her efforts in TNR is what creates more opportunities for communities to get better educated and cats adopted, fostered or simply cared for properly outdoors.

Those people who purchase a cat or kitten from a store need to see this film. This film will change the way you view community cats. The same cats that some neighbors might find a nuisance simply because of their presence around the neighborhood will learn that they could be cared for by members of that same community, already spayed or neutered.

If we don’t know what clues to look for or how to handle a community cat, then how can we be part of the change or efforts to help make a difference with the issue of overpopulation?

A full day of filming spent at this wonderful free roaming rescue for cats took a lot of Preparation. We started filming early morning and we’re able to Capture visits from potential adopters and people who simply wanted to Visit the facility and spend time with the cats. Our ability to see for ourselves just how valuable human interaction is with the cats available for adoption made the reasons for having a free roaming rescue clearer. Visitors are able to help Socialize the cats and help prepare them to be placed in a home wether it be with children or not. Volunteerism is vital and by watching what we were able to capture during our visit you will have a better understanding of what the process is like.

Just north of Atlanta, there’s the little cat rescue that could…and did. In 1988, Good Mews in Marietta, GA set out to establish a haven for cats in need and provide them with the opportunity to find loving forever homes. Good Mews takes in and adopts out hundreds of cats each year, providing them with top-notch medical care and an endless supply of love and enrichment during their stay, however long that may be. The cats and kittens of Good Mews always have warm beds, full bellies, and ongoing socialization while they await their lucky forever families.

Community Helps Save Pets In Need
Getting the community involved with supporting rescues truly helps the cause in so many ways. This Restaurant chose to help make a difference and donated a portion of their proceeds to Meriden Humane Society. We were happy to be there to see everyone working together for the cats and dogs looking for their forever homes. It truly showed how impactful animal rescue is to people in the community and just how much they care.

Couple Suffers Loss Of Dog | The Responsibility of Making New Pets Feel at Home

Most families who rescue are experienced and ready to take on the new responsibility of making their new pet feel at home. This family is no stranger to taking in loving dogs and a rescue bunny ! Not every rescue story is the same and not all dogs live with other dogs . The same goes for cats. A dog and a bunny can actually be the best of friends. Stop dumping old dogs at shelters just because they require a little more love! Leaving old dogs to die at shelters happens far too often but luckily there are rescues out there looking for them to give them the lives they deserve. Older dogs who have lived out most of their lives with 1 owner suffer immensely when given up.

Senior dogs typically are those left behind at shelters and are rescued off the streets because they aren’t “cute” anymore, puppies or because their owners simply cannot care for them anymore due to medical costs and time needed. We had an opportunity to see how a rescue for senior dogs works and we are sure you will learn to appreciate old dogs a little more after this story with Wendy of Touch of Grey.

Our Second transport vlog with Feral Cats in Florida State brought us to Oviedo Pet Care & Emergency where they were set to be fixed and and taken one step closer to adoption. Everyday kittens and cats are found on the streets, woods and basically everywhere else! It takes a lot of planning, time and dedication to keep them safe and healthy. Thankfully there are organizations who work with feral cats and kittens in their communities & prepare them for adoption by getting them medically treated. We are thankful to have had the opportunity to see for ourselves just a small part of the process and get involved to get the kittens closer to adoption day event!
