☘️ March 17th is reserved for celebrating St. Patrick, who was associated with sheep and snakes. Did you know that it's also a feast day for St. Gertrude of Nivelles, the Patron Saint of Cats? Paintings show her with rodents, which were known to spread the Black Plague during her lifetime. She was called upon to protect against rodents, similar to cats, thus earning the designation of Patron Saint of Cats. 🐁 🐀🐈‍⬛

The safety and well-being of pets is of utmost importance at KAS. As you celebrate St. Patrick's Day, take special precautions to prevent your pets from accessing traditional treats. Alcohol, Shamrock plants, the raisins in Irish Soda Bread, and chicolate are toxic to pets.

Fluttershy's foster success story. Born outdoors to a feral mom, kittens can be socialized if brought in early enough, giving them a high chance of a long, healthy life as an indoor pet. Beyond snuggles, I like to train cats recall (verbal and hand signals) and how to sit and wait for meals.
