Start the new year off on the right paw 🐶—our Obedience and Agility Classes are kicking off this January, and there’s still time to register!

Training strengthens the bond with your furry best friend while teaching them valuable skills for a lifetime. From basic obedience to advanced agility, we have something for every dog and handler.

I am wondering if you could help me find a good home for a dog I've been fostering. He'd be a really fun little dog to do agility or competition tracking with, and I'm hoping some of your students may be interested. I've attached his bio below.

Oakley is a black tri miniature american shepherd male born on July 5th, 2022. He's 30lbs. He comes from AKC parents who were health tested and cleared. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.
He knows: Sit, down, place, implied stays, loose leash walking, heel, come, kennel, wait, door boundaries, roll over, play dead, spin, twist, give me five, shake, paw, rest, and bring your toy. He is potty trained and crate trained.

He has been trained in SAR trailing and is highly accurate with it - he's the best trailer I've handled! He could do extremely well with competition tracking. He would also be a pleasure in agility, fast CAT, or other sports. He loves to run and use his brain, and needs a handler who can work him regularly.

Oakley is a pleasure in the home. He is an amazing cuddler and loves leaning on you, laying on you, and getting massages. He'll follow his person around the house and will always want to be near you. He is a happy boy and loves personal interaction. He's developed a really nice off switch in the home since coming here. He absolutely loves to learn anything and everything you want to teach him. He's food, toy, and praise motivated. Food is his highest motivation, with praise a close second.

He prefers women and is a little submissive with men. He has never shown any aggression toward anyone. He's good with cats, dogs, and chickens. He is tolerant and neutral with children. Mostly he ignores other people and just wants to be with his one or two favorite bonded people.
He grew up around a lot of children, other dogs, and cats. We've had him out socializing during his time with us and he's come out of his shell nicely. He has a good startle recovery and is learning environmental confidence. He did well attending busy dog shows and national rally competitions with hundreds of dogs and people. He was able to calmly lay down amidst the chaos. He's been to many different stores.

We believe he would be happy with a SAR trailing team or sport home, though any pet home who can keep working his brain and body would work beautifully for him. He's been in training for service work, and he can continue training for service work with us or with his new handler as long as they can still give him an active lifestyle.

We are located in Xenia, Ohio.

Saturday was a good day as Charlie did his weaves, Q’ed with a 2nd place run and moved onto the Masters level. Hopefully our weave pole issues are on the up swing. #bigtimeskennel #bigtimesCharlie

We got close today to getting a Q. Only 1 off course. Overall it was very good weekend. We are now back to the drawing board to work on our many short comings. Next trial mid July. Hopefully the hot weather of summer will not deter us. #BigTimesKennel #BigTimesCharlie

Things seemed bad after the Premier run, but after reviewing the video we did a lot of good things. The weaves gave everyone a problem. I had a good plan and just took 1 step too far and blocked Charlie seeing the entrance. Second attempt no problem. A good dog walk but Charlie got going and blew the contact and missed 2 jumps but we finished very strong. Looking forward to tomorrow. #bigtimeskennel #BigTimesCharlie

The second run was much better. Did the weaves the first time but missed an entrance to the tunnel and 1 backside command. No Q but a good run and a very happy Charlie. @bigtimeskennel @bigtimescharlie

The weekend got off to a good start as Charlie found success in hitting the entrance to the weaves and doing all 12. First run good entrance bad exicusion only did 10. But a good second try looked good. Problems with the final couple of jumps but overall a nice run. @bigtimeskennel @bigtimescharlie

After a tough no weave pole weekend I was determined to get that last attempt done some how some way. Weave poles at a trial seem to be a problem for Charlie. Before the weaves Charlie is slow and stressed, once by the weaves he reverts back to Charlie speed. All weekend no missed contacts, dropped bars or off courses. Last run 3rd try we conquered our problem at least at that moment. And Charlie finished like Charlie can.

After a 6 month layoff Charlie and I are back in the game. We are both back to 100% . Charlie came out slow but turned on the speed after completing the weaves. We didn’t qualify due to the slow star but still a great start
