The babies are getting bigger at 5 weeks old. The two BEWs didn't want to sit still for pictures the only one that sat still was the chinchilla baby. They are all very sweet and in a few more weeks will be getting their ear tattoos.

We are 3 weeks,3 days old. We are also all boys! I need name suggestions for the two whites. The chin is named Honeybadger. We have to be bribed with food to sit still for pictures, even though we lost focus quickly.

The babies are doing great and starting to get slightly longer pieces of fur on them. The chestnut is starting to get its chestnut coloring and the BEWs are starting to turn white from pink. Can't wait to see these babies open their eyes and follow mom around. Cinder is a great mom and plucked herself bald to where she looks like a naked chicken.

Just a reminder with the holidays upon us, I do not sell any rabbits for presents at all be it for an adult or a child. Rabbits are living animals that require care and commitment for years not a few weeks of care before interest is lost and then ending up dumped in the woods or at shelters. I encourage anyone to research care for Angoras or other breeds of rabbits in general to see if they're a right fit for you. Angoras require a lot of care compared to other breeds of rabbits.

3 day old babies doing good with nice full bellies! Their momma keeps them uncovered most of the time and anytime I cover them up she uncovers them so uncovered they will stay. I still absolutely love the little VM already and have named it Honeybadger for the stripe on the head.

Mountainside's Michelin Man
Had him out for some grooming on the couch so took a quick picture of him posed. I plan to take him to at least two shows to get some comments on him but shows have unfortunately been scarce so he will be in a grow back coat for the two I plan to take him too.

Official Birth Announcement:

4 healthy babies born today from Mountainside Michelin Man and Milton's Cinder

3 BEWs and one most likely Chestnut VM.
This litter is the start of me trying to get good quality BEWs for the show table. I am lucky that my buck I originally had happened to have stellar type that he passed onto all his kits in his first and only litter before I lost him. The dam to this litter is one of his daughters who has really nice type and wool. The sire is from the same breeder as my original BEW buck and I'm hoping for some decent type on the kits. My plan is to have a small group be shown at 2024 Convention as I had noticed that there was none shown at this year's convention they just happened to be shaved down.

My doe is nesting and pulling fur! Crossing my fingers for a healthy first litter.

Of course the only breed I didn't enter for convention and my Rew senior doe looks the best right now.

Michelin Man is already using the corner litterbox! The cage has to be cleaned from the fuzzies hanging off of it when I groom the girls. But super excited he took to the litterbox without much coaching and just hay being placed in it.

3 more days before my new herd buck arrives. He will settle in go through quarantine and then breed a doe or two and start growing his wool back out for eventual harvest to be turned into roving and then yarn. Already have a cute call name picked out for him as well, Michelin Man Hoping to kick off the end of the show season with a litter or two on the way for December/January juniors.

09/17/2023

Agenda for later this afternoon after work: groom both does.

09/13/2023

Super excited to announce that I have a new herd buck coming on a reliable transporter. I'll be welcoming a BEW English Angora from Mountainside Rabbitry. I'm thrilled I was able to purchase again from her. Will post pictures of him when he arrives.

09/12/2023

I groomed both does today and clipped nails so they won't rip their wool. They are definitely ready for breeding season but will have to wait until it cools down to an appropriate temperature before breeding. Maybe later this month or early October for December/January show juniors. The goal is to have progress at least two generations for next year's convention for some BEW English Angoras.

Youth membership is free for the club as well. Just let them know in the email that you're interested in the membership form to fill out for your youth. Offering transport to convention and then back.
Will begin and end in Daytona Beach,FL. Can provide references from people I have transported locally for.

I have 10 holes available for transport.
6 can be used for small breeds like Polish, Holland Lops, Netherland Dwarfs, etc. 4 holes can be used for larger breeds like Thriantas, Rex,etc. Or for four Angoras. No giants breeds. All rabbits must be above the age of 12 weeks.

One way trip to convention plus care during the duration of convention $50

One way trip back from convention $45

Two way trip to convention plus care during the duration of convention $70

Care only at Convention $5 per day per rabbit

All rabbits will have access to fresh water and hay and their feed. Please pack more than enough feed for the rabbits to eat during transport and the duration of convention as not all brands of feed will be provided at convention and there's been some rumors that no feed will be provided at convention. Water will have hydralyte in it to help during the trip and during the stay at convention. Hay will be offered at all times. A health check will be performed before I accept the rabbit into my care and once the new owner picks up the rabbit. All ears must be tattooed clearly. You can also sharpie owners initials into the right ear for transport. A list will be made for which rabbit goes to who and who the seller and buyer are. At any point a rabbit becomes ill, both parties will be notified for further consultation. All paperwork such as pedigrees, registration certificate, grand champion certificate or legs must be packed and labeled in a gallon ziplock baggie or in a sheet protector with rabbits ear number and breed and to whom the paperwork will be going to if sent with me on the transport trip.

Pictured below is the route I will be taking. I can meet for pickup and drop off at the buccee's in Daytona Beach, FL.

Now that its cooling down weather wise I will start breeding in the next month or two for some English Angoras. I will mainly be focusing on a BEW/Vienna program for the English Angoras to get some nice show quality babies as I absolutely love improving type in breeds with BEW. I am also hoping to make it to some more shows with other English Angora breeders hopefully in December or next years show season.

Welcome to Cinder. She's a chestnut Vienna Marked doe with a beautiful white blaze and partially heterochromic eyes with both eyes being half brown, half blue.
I had her looked over at the show by Louis Potter and he really liked her and gave some pointers on what to improve for the next generation. The goal is nicely typed BEW English Angoras.

With how hot it has been here in Florida I am definitely glad to have hydralyte on hand for the rabbits. It may color the water green but I am glad that it increases water intake and replenishes electrolytes for the rabbits.

I plan to breed once it gets to cooler weather, this hot weather would just be too much on any of the rabbits and I don't want to lose any to the heat. I am also slowly rebuilding my English Angora herd. I only have two does as of right now and no bucks for breeding. Once I get a buck I will plan a litter or two out. I'm hoping to be able to bring back a nice buck from convention.

08/10/2023

ISO either a BEW English Angora buck from a show breeder or Vienna Marked buck from a show breeder. Looking for short shoulders. No chocolate or shaded behind them.

Also on the lookout for either a Black Tort buck or Red Buck clean lines.

06/13/2023

The last of the Satin Angoras will be leaving June 18th to their new homes. I wish them luck with their new owners and hope they bring them joy like they did me. I will be focusing more on my English Angoras and will hopefully have some litters soon provided it cools down some here in Florida.

First litter plans will be Red Dragon Rabbitry's RDREA26 (Mr.Brownstone) to Rosebriar's Deidre(Betty White) I will be expecting mainly Blues, maybe potentially blacks, torts and Rew.

Second litter plan is Red Dragon Rabbitry's RDREA26 (Mr.Brownstone) to Yellow Barn's Lillian(Mimosa) I'm expecting mainly Chestnuts and Blues out of this pairing with maybe a chance of REW, and Creams.

I have not forgotten those on my waiting list for English Angoras as soon as I have anything available I will message you to make sure you're still interested.
