We are done for the day thank you to those that came and picked up

Drive thru free, non expired dog food giveaway Monday, January 8th, 2024, at Freedom Playground Park from 6 pm to 7 pm or earlier if food runs out. Each bag contains at least 10 packs of wet food and treats. Bags variety with flavors and brand. First come, first serve no holds. Address to park is 230 N Stone St., Deland. Food giveaway will be at the park side by the pavillions. Drive thru service only.

A fellow cat lover saw a truck down the end of her street throw out a momma cat and 4 kittens on the side of the road last week. We were able to trap 2 kittens around 3-4 months old New Years Eve. We trapped mom and one more kitten on New Years Day and one more yesterday. All are friendly but very scared. Please, if you don't want the animals or can't care for them anymore please reach out to a local rescue.

Meet our new rescue Rhea but we are spelling it Raya. She is in very poor condition. She is very emaciated, sick, cherry eye amongst other health issues but still a loving 1 1/2 year old pup that deserves to be shown love while getting better. She has a long recovery ahead and we are going to do everything in our power to make her 100% healthy and loved. Her story is in the screenshots from the shelter. If you can find it in your heart to donate towards her care we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

We are desperately looking for a foster or an adopter for sweet Rexy. She was adopted almost a year ago but is having some separation anxiety issues, which is very common with her breed. She needs someone who understands the husky breed and how high energy they are. Her adopters need her gone by Wed before they take her to the humane society. If interested, please reach out.

I can't believe some people. Leaving a beautiful friendly momma cat with 8 - 3 week old kittens in a plastic container outside Deltona Pet Supermarket Wednesday night or Thursday morning before opening. Thank you to the quick thinking manager bringing them in the store and warming them all up. Mom is super thin and was starving when we got her. All the kittens have fever coat and mom was full of worms. They are all safe in our rescue.

All 3 are all four months old, and are at the Petco in Orange City adoption Habitat!

King Cole and Trixie are littermates, but Naomi has grown up with them over the past six weeks or so. They’ve been around kids ages six and up and are very sweet and are fully vetted! if you are looking to add to your family, please stop by and visit them :-)

UPDATE - ADOPTED!
These beautiful babies are at the Petco in Orange City! Mikey is five months old, and when he was five weeks old, his badly infected eye had to be surgically removed, but it doesn’t slow him down at all! The other three babies are a different litter, but they were all raised in the same foster home. Snickerdoodle, Scarlett, and Snowybutt are three months old. They’ve been around kids ages eight and up and are all very sweet and curious 💓

We have been asked a lot lately with missing pets and with it being July 4th tomorrow we want to recommend everyone to make an account with lost.petcolove.org just as a backup if anything were to ever happen. We highly recommend them as far as if your animal was to get lost, they promote the lost post and have a better success rate or reuniting your pet back with you.

I have been holding off on writing this post. But as of this morning I have to say.

We are DROWNING in bills. The cost of cat food, vaccinations and vet services for spay and neuter are all going up. We are trying our best to keep our adoption fees down.
Donations are trickling in slowly. We are in DIRE need of help. And I feel awful saying that. We have kittens coming in faster than they are being adopted. We are having to say no more incoming at this time as we are over capacity. We have a waiting list for people that need our help and it breaks our heart to say no to helping others and these innocent babies.
