The last week has been a roller coaster. We spent the week in Rome with family as a final vacation before kidding season and show season. Although the vacation was lovely, sadly one of our kitties got sick while we were away. Being halfway across the world and not able to be with your pets when they need you is a helpless feeling. Thankful for friends who loved her for us while she crossed the rainbow bridge since we couldn't be there. On a more positive note, our first doe is due in 2 weeks. Baby goat fever is hitting hard! Can't wait to see what the girls are cooking up!

To say I'm excited about these babies is an understatement. Tina is a lovely doe that has never really had a chance to prove herself. She was AGS classified as a 2F VG87.3. We bought her last year in milk after she raised twins and her udder was lopsided so we had to dry her off without getting her in the show ring. Although she was dry for our appraisal, the appraiser did comment that she had great angulation, legs, and a nice wide udder arch. I can't wait to get her into all the things next year so that others can see what I see in her. She has produced some awesome daughters, including her doeling from this year that won reserve grand at her first outing.

Wolfivan CQ Kentucky Bourbon is a buck that needs no introduction. Luckily I snagged some straws before he was named 2023 ADGA Premier Sire because he sold out quick after that. 😅 His dam, sisters, and daughters are just awesome and I am lucky to get some of these genetics into my herd.

1. 𝐂𝐇 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐚 (Little Tots Estatel Metasequoia +*B x Little Tots Estate Camellia 2*M). Pandora is a long and powerful doe. We bought her this year as an 8 year old after being dry for a year and I'm so excited that we will get some kids out of her next year!

2. 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐦𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐲 (CH Kyeema Ridge Gunsmoke x Dill's BJ Diamond). Miss Kitty is one of my favorite does in our herd for her general appearance, and personality. She was appraised this year at VEEG89 with a 46 in body depth, 40 in strength, and 38 in dairyness. She also received an E in shoulder assembly and an E in back.

3. 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐦𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐀𝐐 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐎𝐚𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐲 (Old Mountain Farm AnthonyQuinn *B x Roamn Ranch Miss Kitty). Annie will be a yearling FF and I can't wait to see how she matures. She has quite a few paternal sisters that have lovely udders, and as stated above, I love her dam's general appearance! Hoping for the magical combination of both with this girl.

🌟 Another doe confirmed bred! 🌟

𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚 is confirmed bred to our junior buck 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐞'𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐀𝐢𝐧𝐭' 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧!

Nora won a reserve grand champion this year as a yearling FF with limited showing due to her kidding late. She appraised at GGVG 84 with a 37 in fore udder, 38 in rear udder height, and 38 in rear udder arch. These pictures simply do not do her justice. (Note to self: take better pictures of Nora next year.) In addition, she has a lovely soft udder and is easy to milk with open orifices.

Agape's Prize Aint' That Lovin (Butters) is a junior buck out of the amazing Agape's Prize Priscilla Presle. She was 2nd place/1st place udder 2 year old at ADGA Nationals this year. She also appraised at EEEE 92 as a 2 year old 2nd freshener. Butters is sired by CH Agape's Prize Peris Mason *B who finished his permanent champion status as a yearling buck.

🎉 I'm excited to announce our first confirmed AI breeding 🎉

Learning to AI this year has been a huge project and I'm excited to see some results! Huge shoutout to our friends at G-Bar Dairy Lamanchas for allowing us to watch countless AIs so we could learn the ropes.

𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐉𝐲𝐧𝐱 is confirmed bred via AI to 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝟑𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐃 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐧

Jynx was one of my favorite FFs we had this year. She had lovely udder attachments, soft udder texture, open orifices, is a dream to milk! She appraised as a FF this year at GVVG 84.

Posedon was a 2021 spotlight buckling. As a 2 year old he appraised VEE90 and is 2 x Grand Champion Buck, 3 x Reserve Grand Champion Buck, and 1 x Best Buck in Show. He has multiple sisters on the Elite list and his dam, GCH Southside Nyx, has multiple top 5 finishes at ADGA Nationals.

I'm so excited to see what this cross produces! I would consider one waitlist spot for this pairing. PM if interested. Polled and moonspots are a possibility.

Cat (goat? 🤔) is out of the bag! Can't wait to get this little girl home! A lot of feelings right now and I'll probably process more tomorrow but mostly a huge thank you to Hanson's Hideaway Farm for breeding and consigning such a beautiful doe. 🥰 I may have already decided who her date will be this fall. 😅

Well we thought we'd have fall kids born this past weekend, but instead of going into labor, Luv went into a full blown heat. 🤦🏻‍♀️

We know she was pregnant at the beginning of July (based on ultrasound). Sometime between then and now she lost the babies and we never saw any sign of a messy miscarriage so I'm guessing it was a while ago.

We will add her to the breeding list for spring kids and hope for a different outcome! 🤞🏼

Kaline is a short, wide doe with a lot of body capacity and a lot of udder capacity. I also really appreciate her top line and her brisket extension. She scored a GVEG 85 this year on her Linear Appraisal as a 2F.

French Fry is Amethyst Acres Belle-Fiorello *B x CH Cade's Lil Farm SE Faline *M

Belle-Fiorello's dam is Sugar Moon F Belle-Fleur 5*M, who was an ADGA ELITE DOE and on the 2018 Top 10 list for milk production.

I'm hoping this breeding will maintain Kaline's production while improving on her structurally.

Rachel is a petite, feminine doe and she had great attachments on her FF udder! We also appreciate her length of rump. We hope that Mide will add some strength and udder capacity. Additionally these babies have a chance at blue eyed and polled from mom, and moonspots from dad!

The Agape’s Prize herd had its first show since Nationals and I had a great time visiting with friends and showing my goats at the DuQuion State Fair. I had several highlights this weekend but one that was really special, Agape’s Prize Priscilla Presle was Grand Champion and Best Senior Doe in Show, Presle is a two year old second freshener that I am very excited about she also scored a EEEE92 on her appraisal this year❤️!!

We had our first Linear Appraisal this past weekend and boy oh boy did we learn a lot. We were the appraiser's last stop of the day, and they spent THREE HOURS with us teaching us all about what they look for and the measurements they take. It was so insightful and my brain was fried for a whole 24 hours trying to digest everything I learned.

The appraiser acknowledged that quite a few of our does were not at peak production. We also have only had a lot of these does a couple months, some only a week at the time of appraisal so they are definitely not in their best condition. However for only being a couple years into our goat adventure I'm pleased with how our herd did.

A couple highlights include that all our final scores were 80 or better, and everyone scored above average (25) in rump width, fore udder attachment, and rear udder height (a few other categories as well but those were the categories I was most excited about).

This little girl hasn't been photographed much because she's quite shy, but we finally shaved her and took her to her first show. She refused to walk 🤦‍♀️ so she didn't place well, but I can't help but admire the way she's maturing!
