Double Knot Kennels, Deanville, Texas
Double Knot Kennels (“DKK”) has a simple dream, the world would be a better place if every home has a dog, and every dog has a home. DKK is committed to offer minimally invasive canine research utilizing dogs available for forever homes rather than dogs only intended for testing. Beagles and Labs are the predominant breed used in Pharma studies because strict
protocols as to size and breed are needed to meet the study requirements. While this plan may be necessary for Pharma level standards, we do not believe it is the most humane method to conduct most companion animal and pet food research. DKK uses a variety of breeds, rescued from overcrowded shelters, and vetted for health and wellness. These dogs, with similar size and weight, provide a more representative canine population versus using a single breed. All the DKK dogs are monitored for heath and behavior characteristics for months, not days. The increased interaction with these rescue dogs will enable the rescue families more assurance that the dog they invite to be in their family will fit in fabulously. DKK is partnered with the Bear Carson Longevity Project, which was co-founded by the founders of DKK. The Double Knot Kennel staff are Vet Tech, Grooming and Training Certified. DKK is strategically located near Texas A&M to provide top Veterinary Assistance to our facility at all levels of necessary care. All DKK employees maintain the highest commitment to healthy and happy future BFFs (Best Fur Friend).
