We've discovered that Hadley's legs have been broken not for days, not even for weeks, but for many months. This is evident from the amount of bone regrowth that has already occurred. 🚨🚨🚨EMERGENCY - hit by car shelter cocker spaniel needs our help!🚑💨💨💨

Well, we didn't think this would become a thing but guess it's not officially a New Year without our very first hit-by-car dog of 2024.

This little middle aged lady was picked up off the streets by animal control on New Year's day. She has a fractured left arm and someone had wrapped her arm with duct tape! Omg! Who does that?

Because she was in so much pain, when she was picked up, she bit the person on their hand. The shelter has had her under a bite quarantine and is releasing her right now to us.

We were quite anxious to get her sooner but the shelter has rules for anytime a dog bites someone.

They did try to help her however and sent her to an outside vet, where the duct tape was removed and she was x-rayed and given a proper soft bandage.
We don't know if her bandage has been changed since and we are taking her directly from the shelter to a board certified surgeon at a speciality hospital who knows we are en route.

We are naming her Elsa and she is going to get whatever she needs to save that arm. Cross the paws the skin has not gone necrotic under that bandage.

**UPDATE! You all did it again!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!! We raised enough for the surgery ❤️🙌🏻🐾😔**
This precious pup 🐶 was abandoned alongside the highway with a fractured femur 😔(yes, we know this for sure. Yes, we have notified the proper authorities).
Thankfully, Rex was rescued by a kind gentleman who brought him to us. We determined that he will need orthopedic surgery and I Dr Nicole has generously donated half the bill but the cost is still $2,000.
While we know we have had a lot of “asks” this past month, our normal budgeted Medical expenses have been blown out of the water with unforeseen medical emergencies the past months and we are asking again! If you can help Rex please donate below to our Shelter

"Not everything goes 100% in life."

In case you missed what happened yesterday . .this sad little man was sprung from the South Los Angeles city Our animal Rescue Team yesterday and he BROKE OUR HEARTS!

He came in to the shelter covered in dreadlocks of matted hair that had taken years to get that bad. Thank goodness the shelter shaved him down but what they found underneath, omg!

He is blind in both eyes and you can see his left eye is bulging out, our guess is the vet is going to diagnose it as glaucoma and that eye will need to be enucleated.
His skin, this is heartbreaking, HEARTBREAKING!

He will of course need a skin scraping and a skin culture sent out to the lab to determine what the bacteria is.

His new name is now Barney and he has no idea but his life just took a turn for a fresh start. We know he is an older gentleman and we know it will be super duper hard to get a blind dog adopted out.

But how could we say no?

Needless to say, we are having a really expensive week right now (and we still have Bet debt on the credit cards, from the last six weeks).
