Mr Smalls is certainly full of himself. He currently weighs in at 1.75 pounds. He will be ready to go home when he hits 2 pounds so you still have time to reserve him.

We prefer to keep our pups on the same product from start to finish, so we make our own recipe for puppy mash. This can also be done for your late term moms who have such small stomach space at the end when they are full of puppies. We have found that by making a mash for the mom's out of their dry kibble works better than just feeding the kibble in the normal chunks. It absorbs fluid and swells in size, causing the mom's a bloated over full belly with regurgitation. We get fewer stomach/poop issues with the pups this way. And we are able to keep the mom's more comfortable. Works for us, just wanted to share.

It was a long exhausting week. 5 12 hour days for my day job along with two runs to the vet, as well as hot mash feedings for the equines each morning. Horse is preggars and pony is 40 so this keeps their gut hydrated to cut down on colics as is a problem in this weather with special need cases. And another week of debilitating spine issue pain. Good thing we have an acupuncturist appt this coming week. Appointments are running 3 months out, so needless to say I've been anticipating this appointment. So, thinking I has a full night to rest before business again as usual here at home, I went to bed and literally passed out. So having said all that, at 1:30 in the morning, what am I doing up you may ask? Whelping puppies....
