Just to tide everyone over while we wait on Dreamy, we had a litter of chocolate parti's born this morning. Mom and pups all doing great, 2 girls chocolate/tan parti, 1 Kb chocolate parti girl, and 1 boy chocolate/tan parti. All fat and sassy and mom already eating and drinking.We'll post pics once recieved. Congratulations Milo on his 1st Psychedelic Kennel litter..
Dreamy update. She's holding them hostage! She is perfectly on schedule based on her insemination dates. She is not in distress. Pups are all fine. ..............
AND her temp has continued to drop, along with her reverse progesterone at 1.29 just now.Remeber Mondays test was 2.87 and the closer to 0 is theg9al. So even though we worry, right now all the tests and examinations show she is not experiencing anything to worry about yet. We have notified our repro vet the current info. So now we just continue to watch and wait.
Dreamy's temp is 98.4, closer and closer we get. All the signs for babies within the next 24 hours. Fingers crossed and belly rubs.
Dreamy update. So far so good, but no active labor yet. Yesterday it was a late afternoon visit to the vet with xrays to check pup positioning and to get a count. Came home and within the first hour home she had a panting episode. Just knew she was starting labor but NOPE. A quiet night's sleep and we spend the day together again.
Aliens...guess how many! Currently at vet getting final check and xrays to make sure correct positioning, and no surprises of a large pup. We will announce how many pups after we give you time to make your predictions.
THIS HEIFFA RIGHT HERE.......Well, now she's just messing with me...temp of 100F early this morning around 6am. Then by 9ish she was back to 99.7 and holding steady. And then this midday reverse progesterone was 2.87, down only .2 since Saturdays read of 2.97. I now believe she's enjoying the attention so much, she has decided tp hold those pups hostage. But her behavior is different, no piranha'ing her breakfast. Actually hasn't touched it, sooooooo..... We have her glorious hair banded out of the way and she will be going everywhere I go till we have an update to share.

Dreamy has finally started progress, not alot, just half a degree internal body temp. 99.2F
Doing reverse progesterone again tomorow morning and fully expect a 1.5 or so my best guess. Comment your best guesses for body temp and progesterone score to win gifts.
Today, Saturday, she is down to 2.97 on the progesterone late am. So far it averages to .5 per day drop and with a base body temp of 99.7 resting. Next reverse progesterone is scheduled for Monday am if she doesn't make any other behavior or body changes....
Trying to get as far ahead in my dailey/weekly/monthly chores crammed in now before I am glued to Dreamy and those puppies.
Well, she's still taking her sweet time. Another reverse progesterone tomorrow to see where we are so I know if I can run errands in the morning or stay home glued to Dreamy. Her temp is 99.6F so I think we are safe tonight. She has milk already in all ten ripples. Bedtime now for us both.
Dreamy's reverse progesterone this morning was 4.0. Son only a .9 drop in 2 days...she's taking her time. Watching for temp drop of course.

So we are looking at doing another Thursday morning first thing. Fingers crossed, but going ahead and notifying both vet practices in case we need to run in for any reason. Better safe than sorry.
Our Juju Queen, mom to DaisyMae, Mocha, and Ashton, has been retired and is living the life of a sponge. She literally soaks up all the attention, deservedly so. And she's local so we will always be her babysitter should they need to go out of town.
I have a stalker. 24EABoy3 can't stand being ignored. He is literally only 18 inches from where I sit and work and THAT'S not close enough. How does he sleep like that?

This tiny boy has stolen everyone's heart. He is going to make someone an exceptionally striking companion. Since he is going to be smaller, full registration w breeding rights are a possibility.
Count down time for Dreamy. We start checking hormone levels Monday, called a reverse progesterone. Don't care what we get, just healthy pups and an easy delivery for our girls Dreamy's first litter. She had her pre-whelping spa day and will be by my side wherever I go for a while.

Mr Smalls is certainly full of himself. He currently weighs in at 1.75 pounds. He will be ready to go home when he hits 2 pounds so you still have time to reserve him.

We prefer to keep our pups on the same product from start to finish, so we make our own recipe for puppy mash. This can also be done for your late term moms who have such small stomach space at the end when they are full of puppies. We have found that by making a mash for the mom's out of their dry kibble works better than just feeding the kibble in the normal chunks. It absorbs fluid and swells in size, causing the mom's a bloated over full belly with regurgitation. We get fewer stomach/poop issues with the pups this way. And we are able to keep the mom's more comfortable. Works for us, just wanted to share.

Never a dull moment.
It was a long exhausting week. 5 12 hour days for my day job along with two runs to the vet, as well as hot mash feedings for the equines each morning. Horse is preggars and pony is 40 so this keeps their gut hydrated to cut down on colics as is a problem in this weather with special need cases. And another week of debilitating spine issue pain. Good thing we have an acupuncturist appt this coming week. Appointments are running 3 months out, so needless to say I've been anticipating this appointment. So, thinking I has a full night to rest before business again as usual here at home, I went to bed and literally passed out. So having said all that, at 1:30 in the morning, what am I doing up you may ask? Whelping puppies....
