🌟 Update on our tote kittens!! 🌟

Unfortunately we lost the smallest tortie kitten not long after coming into foster care, but the remaining four kittens found locked in a tote north of Decorah are doing absolutely amazing! They were just spayed/ neutered and vetted and were such good kitties for the vet. We decided on a name theme of “rural roads north of Decorah” after the location they were found.

We can officially introduce…tortie girls Meadowlark and Middle Hesper, and house panther boys State Line and Colonel Taylor 🖤🧡

Individual glamour shots coming soon - for now these babies play so much it’s hard to get them to stand still for even one photo 😂

One of our amazing volunteers has started a pet food drive for the Decorah Food Pantry. It’s our hope this will help provide food for any local pet owners struggling to feed their pets due to financial reasons. If you have any dog or cat food you’d like to donate to this cause, we have established a drop box at 701 Center Ave in Decorah. This drop box will remain open indefinitely. Donations can also be taken directly to the food pantry.

A few months ago, we saw this flyer in a local gas station advertising free cats and kittens. We reached out to the phone number on the flyer right away and offered our low cost TNR (trap neuter return) services, and the owners were thankfully very receptive to our help! Recently we were able to get the entire group of cats spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and returned home to their property north of Decorah.

With the colony's population now managed through TNR, most of the cats will hopefully be able to stay at their current home. For any cats that are rehomed, our TNR efforts ensure that these cats won’t contribute to overpopulation at their new homes, and that the overpopulation issue that started at this property isn't transferred to one or more new locations. This gives ALL these cats a better chance at a stable, healthier future - and NO more kittens to worry about!!

Peppermint (now known as Syrup) was adopted yesterday! This lucky kitty joins Camp Companion alum Waffles (fka London Boy) from our at home. Waffles and Syrup's mom says it took about five minutes for the two kitties to become best friends, and they spent the whole evening running around playing together 😍

Congratulations to Syrup and family, and THANK YOU for adopting!

***HELP NEEDED*** FOSTERS NEEDED****

We were contacted about seven cats (two not pictured) that have been displaced from their home near Cresco and are now living in a garage in kennels. Their owner cannot take them back, and they will likely be let loose outside if placement is not found soon.

We would love nothing more than to help these seven cats and get them into Camp Companion, but we cannot do it without the community's help. We're desperately looking for foster homes that are able to take even 1-2 cats until they find forever homes. All vet expenses are covered.

Here’s the first look at all five of our precious tote kittens 🧡🖤🐾 These five were found dumped on a gravel road north of Decorah inside a locked tote the other evening.

All babies are eating great, have been dewormed, and are loving all the attention and TLC they’re getting in their foster home. They’re busy working on gaining weight and being typical little playful curious kittens 😊 We’re still deciding on names and should be ready to share those soon! Thank you to those who have reached out and sent donations so far, and to everyone for all the support of these five. It’s SO appreciated!!
