Neutering and timing affects everything in a dog’s life…weight, hormones, hip and bone growth, to cancer.
This study that UC Davis completed now recommends not spaying female Golden Retrievers whatsoever as it significantly increases the risk of cancer.
If you must, waiting until after a year is the best option.

New research has redefined the best age to spay/neuter five large dog breeds. Delaying the procedure can prevent joint disorders and certain cancers.

We want to learn from the history of the breed….. such as…. Why are Goldens are such loving and intelligent animals, why are they not living as long as a breed, what can be done, and what all can they teach us.

Things are ever changing. It has been more of a challenge this year than ever before for us to reach out and communicate with you. Getting restricted and having posts taken down happen. The chance of us being permanently deleted is possible at anytime.
