Monte was ready for an increase! After a week of our last pattern (.25 walk, .25 run x3)with no issues, he seemed ready for a little more! Today we did .25 walk, .35 run x3, so a total distance increase of .3 miles. So far, so good!

I love running in Wichita! I can always fare better than I do at home. Low altitude is my hack! Won my age group in the 5k at Prairie Fire with a 25:06. Best time I’ve run in several years!

At 1 year and 10 months, Monte is officially learning to run! Because he’s not completely new to running (I occasionally took him for 1/4 mile runs within the last 6 months) and he behaves decently on leash, we are able to do a quicker start. We’ve been doing 1/4 mile run, 1/4 mile walk x 3. It’s about 20 minutes of exercise, and I do notice that it helps to quell some of his boredom naughtiness! Great job, Monte!!
