Be a PROUD Coloradoan. Telluride has just become the 21st city in Colorado passing an ordinance banning the SALE OF RETAIL PUPPIES/KITTENS. Currently EIGHT STATES and 495 cities in the United States have a ban on the retail sale of puppies/kittens. This is one of many fronts at battling against the horrific puppy mill industry. Here is the list of Colorado cities currently with such an ordinance:

HUGE VICTORY (news from Animal Victory) - Man Sentenced to 475 YEARS in Prison for Sadistic Dogfighting operation in Georgia.

(IF YOU SUSPECT A DOGFIGHTING OPERATION, PLEASE NOTIFY AUTHORITIES.)

Two and a half years after this news broke, we are ecstatic to tell you that Vincent Burrell was sentenced to 475 years in prison; the maximum penalty possible under law.

Lead prosecutor K.C. Pagnotta said, "It is time as a society that we step up and stop the abuse and mistreatment of innocent animals. Ordinary citizens can play a part in stopping animal abuse by recognizing signs of dog fighting and reporting concerns to law enforcement.”

Animal Victory thanks everyone who added their name to the petition, helping to make Burrell's impressive prison sentence a reality. This investigation/prosecution started 2.5 years ago. We are so happy it had a good ending although we are so sad for what the dogs have lived through and many died.

Tonight on FOX31 KDVR.com at 5 p.m. our Community Services Officer Tim Haines gives an update on our animal cruelty case involving 11 German Shepherd puppies found in unsafe conditions at a local motel.

“If you think someone or puppies or dogs or any animal that can't tell you 'I'm in trouble,' and you think that animal is in trouble, be the voice for them,” Haines said. “Speak up for them because they can't do it.”
