ology to prepare you for the scientific part of becoming a veterinary technician. Applied classes in large animal medicine, surgery, laboratory and treatment procedures, and emergency room procedures, give you the hands-on experience you need to prepare for a rewarding career. Internships during the last quarter of the program allow you to work with actual patients in real-life situations – essential preparation for working with animals and their owners as a veterinary technician. Bel-Rea offers solid academic courses, hands-on training in our advanced training facilities, and personal attention from experienced faculty and staff.

Just wanted to share that for the 3rd time in a row, a Bel-Rea grad has been voted CACVT Veterinary Technician of the year! 🎉 Meika Velazquez graduated in 2012 and has gone on to become a head tech in a mixed animal practice. She also received her certification in abdominal ultrasound several years ago.

Prior winners include former Bel-Rea instructor and 2004 graduate, Liz Salan Kilroy (2023-2024), as well as Kailyn Quirk, who graduated in 2017 and was voted the winner in 2022-2023.
