People Helping Pets

People Helping Pets http://bit.ly/phpets We offer a unique and effective service to animal shelters and rescues to help raise awareness of the animals that need homes.

People Helping Pets(501c3) brings homeless pets into the public eye through Virtual Shelters so that both the caring people and the pets that they adopt or foster can get the love and respect that is their birthright. This increases adoptions, decreases the need for unnecessary euthinasia and also provides a little education to the public on spay/neuter, animal behavior, and more.

COFFEE CUP $5.00 FRIDAY for our WEEKLY FEATURED STREET FEEDER / INDEPENDENT RESCUER "Andy". Any funds raised on this post will go towards supplies for her mission. Also, linked below are Andy’s lists and pay information that will go directly to her for supplies / gas / vetting.
From Andy: “I am a feeder of lost and abandoned pets on the streets, I go out every day to walk the streets near or far to look for them. It's not just feeding them; it's also helping those who are in very poor health recover or protecting those who are puppies and providing them with medicine and helping them find a forever home where they will be given the love they deserve. I do without so that the ones I come across may have the chance to survive. I cannot / I will not look the other way.”
Andy is boots on the ground, in the woods, getting in culverts and under abandoned homes to save lives. There are just a few people dedicating most of their spare time and money to helping the ones people have discarded like trash. Cleveland is like a 3rd World Country, and none of the street animals would have a chance without people like Andy.

Who are Street Feeders? They are heroes. They risk their own safety each day and night to feed the strays. These are just a few of the people dedicating their spare time and money to helping animals that sub-humans have discarded like trash. Houston and its surrounding areas are like a 3rd World Country, and none of these animals would have any chance without them. These heroes, welcomes rescues to take any of the hundreds of dogs or cats they feed off the streets and into their rescue. They challenge you to ride with them. It is heartbreaking for these feeders to leave the animals they see and feed, there are just too many. Most of the time, all they can do is take a photo to network for help and give them a meal. These boots on the ground people have no or very little support or backing.
PLEASE share / save their list. Buy an item or two. They want nothing for themselves, only help to feed the animals that everyone has forgotten. Most of these poor animals won’t live long out on the evil streets. They die horrifically. And if they had one good last meal, at least they had that. Thankful for them doing what no one else will do.

One more reason we do not use or recommend the "gentle leader or other harnesses that come across the dogs face.

Here is the vascular system in a canine head. This highlights the enormous amount of blood flow in the dogs nose. This blood flow serves many purposes, fuels the scent chambers, aids in temperature regulation, allows dogs to effectively track, but this also makes the dogs nose incredibly sensitive to touch. This is the main reason you should not use face harnesses. There are plenty of tools designed to communicate with dogs that do not put pressure on one of their most sensitive features.
