Look who is up and eating all by himself❤️ you go Squinty Sam, show him how it's done Digs! Everyone else is eating on thier own completely, these 2 are together so I can track thier eating until they are eating all the time by themselves and up in weight.
My 3am nightly check on the hospital cage (digs) the Scallwag crew (Bootleg Betty went back in with them because she was missing her brothers si we made the cage all one level).
AND to check on the borders who got the ferret room all night........was not impressed with the 💩 in the middle of the room 🤣.
Got up and gave digs more food to make sure he is eating threw the night.
Digs is improving with the high protein soupies he has been getting every couple hours. He has been surrendered to the rescue. I'm going to see if i can't get him an appointment the same time as Bootleg Betty (this coming Tuesday morning). He is on my insulinoma food regime and doing well.
I have tapered him off his, already tapered, meds. This has helped him be more alert and not sluggish. He can get up and eat on his own.
I'm so proud of this old man. Once we get him stable, he will join the Scallwag crew.♥️looks like I'll be combining 2 more cages, so i can have a double critter nation long.......but I have help tomorrow, so it shouldn't be a problem ☺️
Look at Mr. Digs eating on his own. Daddy can't make it back for a day or 2, so he is making a call so I can talk to the vet.

**They are emergency boarders
We are waiting to see if Dad can make it back (he is being boarded here). He has meds and was seen by a vet. He was not diagnosed properly and has meds for a symptom, not the cause. He is old and frail (9 years). His owner was responsible and got him to the vet.
PLEASE. If your vet sees ferrets, and isn't a ferret specialist......ask them to read up on insulinoma and adrenal. Especially insulinoma! If you have a ferret 4 years and over, the vet understaning insulinoma can save your ferrets life. Arm yourself with all symptoms/date it happened/ and anything in between.
