Our final full day in San Francisco was a great one! 🚒 Before our tour, the girls explored Fisherman’s Wharf — taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells of the busy waterfront. Then they climbed aboard a retired San Francisco fire engine for a city tour, seeing iconic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, Fort Point, and Horseshoe Bay. Each new stop offered valuable exposure to different environments and experiences. After the tour, we stopped by a real firehouse to show our support for the incredible men and women in red. ❤️ Huge thanks to San Francisco Fire Engine Tours for such a memorable day! 🌉🐾

Day 3 was all about the bay! 🌊 The girls continued building confidence with another streetcar ride and their very first ferry trip to Alcatraz. Navigating new environments like busy docks, moving boats, and crowds helps prepare them for any situation they may face as future service dogs. They were even gifted Junior Ranger badges by an incredible National Park Ranger — and found kennels big enough for their guardians! 🏅🐾 Afterward, they explored Pier 39 and calmly observed the sea lions basking in the sun — another great exposure opportunity for our SDiTs. 🌉

Day two in San Francisco brought lots of sights, sounds, and smells! The girls practiced calm confidence while riding the historic streetcar and exploring the city markets. They ended the day with a fun playdate and new toys from the Ferry Building — with plenty of pigeons, seagulls, and new experiences along the way. 🌉🐕‍🦺

Sammi and Charlie had a great first day! And they continue to rock it today! We definitely learned about pigeons here and worked on ignoring them.

Flight training is just the beginning! These girls — and their incredible guardians — are exploring all that big city life has to offer. From bustling airports to crowded streets, they’re learning to navigate environments we can’t always replicate in Iowa. Each experience builds the confidence they’ll need to serve their future warriors. San Francisco, get ready — our SDiTs are coming in hot! ✈️🐾
