We have a very exciting announcement to make-Dr. Thatcher and Elizabeth will be going on a veterinary mission to Hoonah, Alaska!! They will be leaving Tuesday, August 19th after 5:30pm to fly out, taking generous donations from our wonderful representatives with Boehringer Ingelheim and Zoetis. They will return Tuesday, September 2nd after the Labor Day holiday weekend. The clinic will be open during normal business hours as Asher will be here to take phone calls and orders, but we will be unable to schedule normal appointments during this time.

Hoonah:

Hoonah is a largely Tlingit community on Chichagof Island, located in Alaska's panhandle in the southeast region of the state. It is 30 miles west of Juneau, across the Alaskan Inside Passage.

Summer is here and so are the ticks. Make sure your dogs are protected from these nasty little bugs. Ticks in their nymph or immature stage can be difficult to spot, and they carry diseases like Lyme’s disease. Monte the Jack Russell mix had lots of fun camping, and even though he is using good preventatives, still needs to be checked for ticks after hiking through long grass. Keep up with your preventatives and be diligent about tick checks all season long.
