Short coat dogs need just as much grooming as long coat dogs. Look at all this hair we can takeout in the bath (1st process of hair removal of dead coat). Imagine all the hair that is NOT gonna be on the floors tonight! It’s also such a satisfying groom too!!!!

Good Evening Everyone!!! It has came to my attention that the local vets do not have much time for nail trims anymore. So with that, starting in January I will be offering $15 nail trims first weekend on Sundays of every month from 8am-12pm. Time slots will need to be reserved to keep things flowing and it will be a 15 mintue slot. Anyone would like to save their slot please message me or text at 218-850-9298.

On Cloud 9 today!!!!!!

Dog #1: Meet Maverick. He is my first client for stripping. Owners are phenomenal people, onboard with everything, dog is fantastic!!!! I couldn’t ask for anything more to help my journey with this!!!

Dog #2: Meet Thor. Got to practice a big transformation, working on timing, and this amount of hair on legs is crazy cool!!!! Owners are so great with brushing so it helps my job 10x more to keep him like this! I can’t get over his expressions! 🐾

Dog #3: Meet Harlee. She is the sweetest little thing ever!!!! She is slightly dog aggressive, so in the shop we take proper precaution as we are a multiple groomer salon. With that being said, man does she love getting groomed!!!! All these other dogs do not ever phase her when she is on the table and walking by kennels she doesn’t even look at them anymore. It’s kinda like people watching for her, she takes its all in and loves it!!!!!

These days when I feel like I have moved mountains with the dogs is some forum or fashion undescribable!!! I can’t wait to share it with everyone and can’t stop smiling!!! Huge thank you to all my clients for their trust in their beloved pets!!! ❤️🐾

So the journey begins!!!!!! Drove 10.5 hours to start my stripping and carding adventure. I will be learning all I can under my new mentor Scott Wasserman and taking as many Seminars/Classes as I can through him. This one was eye opening for me but I’m ready for the challenge as our area really needs this practice. Huge thanks for the support from my hubby Justin Elliott. He drove/sat through the whole class/took work off just to support my new endeavors!!!! Also Miss Daisy put up with all my lack of knowledge and did great for me for 5 straight hours. She was a trooper!

“Frustration=Where Your Knowledge Ends”

When I read this quote somewhere on FB, it resonated with me everyday to this day. I have learned more patience with these dogs than ever with repeating that in my head when they won’t stand still or not complying with what I am asking. That’s all on me, not handling correctly or asking correctly. Every dog is different and we have to bend our selves to help these dogs through the groom each time. So when the frustration starts I ask my self what do I need to do different to help them since then each grooming process has been wonderful! Remind yourselves there is always a different approach to everything if the first time doesn’t succeed 😄☀️

Hello everyone!!!
I would like to update you on my new adventures! After visiting the Hersey Groom Expo in Sept 2023, the ball has been rolling on the knowledge train to bettering my self as your animals groomer. As it is hard to know the correct mentor and programs to trust I have enrolled myself into the International Society of Canine Cosmetologists. I am currently under the Pet Care Derma Tech (PCDT) program. So learning the correct anatomy, recertifying myself in First Aid & CPR, and learning all the skin deseases along with how to treat them. Now this is step one into the bigger picture of taking my Master Certify Test to become a Master Groomer. Our area with our animals could really use the help with skin issues and I would like to further my knowledge on breed standard cuts. I will keep you posted going forward on what other doors this might open and knowledge that needs to be shared!!!!

Huge Shout out to one of the funnest weekends this year!!! We got to support some great friends with their amazing business and our dogs were the star of the show!!! Thank you to Forever In Our Hearts for allowing us to join!!!!! Next year is going to be hard to top this year! Thank you to all the people who screamed “look at that dog!!!!” 😆

I have seen the biggest influx of clients having massive skin issues. It’s that time of year and please don’t take it lightly on your fur babies as they are itching because it can change into a serve skin reaction too!!!!

Blue Green Algae!
As summer heats up in our lakes region, we want to raise awareness about the dangers of blue-green algae in local water bodies. This toxic algae can pose serious risks to both pets and humans. These toxic blooms on the water’s surface may look like spilled green paint or pea soup.

Prevention Tips:
1. Avoid Stagnant Water: Keep your pets away from ponds, lakes, and rivers with visible algae.
2. Check Water Quality: Look for posted signs about water quality and algae blooms before letting your pets swim.
3. Clean Up After Swimming: Rinse your pets with clean water after swimming in natural water bodies.

If you suspect your pet has been exposed to blue-green algae, contact us immediately or seek emergency veterinary care.

Hello Everyone! I am a dog groomer (Swag & Shine Pet Salon) North of DL and am accepting new clients again, starting first week in April. If your furry friend even needs a bath, I’m your gal!
