It’s going to be a long wait to have puppy cuddles again🥹 March 7th can’t come any sooner! That is when our next litter is due between Russet and Rowel. Waiting on professional pictures of one of our new additions, Russet before the upcoming litter is announced! Also missing memories made with our spunky baby Brio from Hollis x Chevy, although she’s living her life to the fullest now with her family.

G R O O M I N G
Let’s talk about the subject that makes the world go round for this incredible breed! Poodles need grooming every 4-8 weeks in order to maintain healthy, mat-free hair. This can be a blessing or a curse depending on your outlook. I personally love this about the breed because you can do so many fun looks, it’s always new and exciting! You can have a short hair dog for a month, you can have a teddy bear face another or you can go all out and have a full continental on the exact same dog. It’s just so amazing to me. I think a common thought about dogs with a lot of hair is “wow that must be so much work” and I’m here to tell you, it does not have to be. It is your choice! If you want an easy low maintenance cut then get them cut in a 4 blade and you’ll only be coming every 8 weeks comfortably with little to no brushing in between grooms. If you want a gorgeous luxurious look then go for it, brush daily and go to the groomer every 4 weeks. It’s totally your choice and preference, there is no wrong choice if you’re giving the adequate care for the cut you choose. Since grooming is a must for the breed, early desensitization is vital for a them to thrive in the setting of a grooming salon. This is why we start our puppies at just 3 weeks old with face shaving and gradually add in more as the weeks go on. You may be wondering what you can do at home to continue this progress. If you’re getting a puppy you’ve probably read “play with their paws”, while this is something that you should do, you can either make or break them with this exercise. If your puppy is in a hyper state of mind and you are messing with their paws, they will probably try to pull away or play bite at your hands because in their mind you’re trying to play. So in order to make this exercise beneficial my suggestion is to practice at a time when your puppy is in a calm state of mind. After playtime when they are ready to nap is an excellent time to start incorporating the paw desensitization with a light massage. Rather than going straight for the paws you can start in a place you know they enjoy and are comfortable with then just work to the paws. Keep it short and sweet!

Thank you for making my love and passion into a career and an amazing opportunity to help support my family through doing what I love. It warms my heart to know that my dogs are someone’s dream dog and I can help them get what they are so excited for. These dogs are heartfelt my best friends. The bond between a dog and their owner can be overwhelming in how deep and loving that connection is. It is almost indescribable to someone who has never experienced a true bond with a dog. They are devoted, they want to please you, they are by your side no matter what, they don’t mind what your emotions are because they will be there regardless to love you and let you love them. I want everyone to experience this, it’s very special and worth all the work they take.

We are thrilled to welcome the latest addition to our family, Brio! From the very first moment we seen her, we were captivated by her breathtaking beauty, sparkling blue eye and the most feminine features, she has completely stolen our hearts! Brio is out of our amazing Hollis, and as you all know, Hollis is very special to us, as we followed her for 2 years prior to owning her and again forever greatful the blessing she’s brought to not only our program, but our lives.

A heartfelt thank you to Pinewood Poodles for your incredible support and for bringing Brio into our lives. Your impact on our program has been profound, and you’ve opened up new beginnings for us here at Kentuckiana Poodles. We are forever grateful!❤️❤️

Update: Brix has his special person!

We have decided that our beloved Brixcovie would have more purpose in another program. There is too much relation for him here to our females, which puts him on the side burner. He made really gorgeous, well tempered and well structured puppies with Mazikeen but with her retirement coming up it’s best to let him go. Brix is social, he’s chill, he loves affection, he goes with the flow of things, he learns quick and has good toy drive, he loves to be with other dogs and he also likes kids. Brix is 26” 60lbs, he got his CGC title, has done a couple UKC conformation shows, he’s completed his OFA patellas, eyes, heart, hips & has had PennHIP as well as Embark clear. Color traits are kyky atat ssp mm Ee 8/10 intensity. He comes from Maysa and Pyke who traces back to . Brixcovie was bred and raised with Country Bunch Paws she gave him an amazing start on life with great socialization and great habits leading to his easy potty training, quickness to evaluate and accept people and situations with ease. Brix loves his job and is not overly dominant, strong willed and best of all no leg lifting in the home. Pet or a breeder are options for him

Welcome Kentuckiana’s Adonis Creed to Pinewood Poodles! This boy is just WOW! His temperament is by far the most laid back, relaxed, composed I have ever met and owned! He’s one of those dogs you have to meet in person to understand just how amazing he is because his disposition can’t be expressed enough through words! Not only is he naturally extremely calm and well mannered but he also has the best structure that has walked through these doors. His rear structural angles are jaw dropping. I am honored to have been chosen as Creed’s owner, he was almost part of Germany and although he would have done great things there I am beyond thrilled he stayed in the USA with me! Thank you Kentuckiana Poodles for not only trusting me to give Creed the best but also for bringing so many amazing attributes to Pinewood Poodles that had prior been lacking! So excited for his litter with Roxehn any day!

There’s something you don’t know 👀 or should I say somethings 🙈 #1 we now have an official website up and running! I slowly but surely have put many minutes into making this what hopefully will be a fun, user friendly, easier way to book appointments online. As well as learning more about me, the products that are used, and so much more! Of course being that the website is new, I am always looking for things I can add or improve so your feedback is welcome!
Now for #2 😆 this ones a fun one. I am estatic to announce that we have welcomed a new member of the team: Julia! Julia has limited her time here to only Mondays, as being a wife, mother, and dog breeder is a full time job on its own 😉 to learn more about Julia visit our website!
Last but not least secret #3 is we have added a new service! Every Monday, Julia and I will be extending hours and offering pick up and drop off!
