Badlands Dutch Bunnies & Silver Fox Pedigreed Black Dutch & Silver Fox Rabbitry located in Western North Dakota. ARBA registered. My name is Emerald, I am from Montana but moved to ND in 2013.

We started rabbits after our first mix farm store bun had kits, raised them up and then decided it would be a fun hobby for my son & I. So upon researching breeds in our state and area, I fell in love with the Dutch. We drove 3hrs for our first doe and I picked up my first sweet buck on my way home from Montana. Ours have done well for 4H youths & some are family pets. It was when my family & I we

re down in Colorado on vacation that I decided on Silver Foxes, never had I seen one in person. But I knew I wanted a second breed & decided that a rare heritage breed would be challenging. Boy has it been a challenge! But I absolutely adore both breeds & are hoping to eventually feed our family & dogs consistently.

Sadly we had some casualties over the weekend. A chocolate and black fox kits, a few dutch kits due to injury from mom and potentially bloat. So the remaining foxes were checked and given hay and gas drops. Will keep an eye on everyone.

Here is one I snagged a photo of outside our hotel. Tempting as it may be to catch, the risk of it having a disease is higher. So we just watch it scurry.

Was videoing this little scratching at the straw and mom said no and blocked my view 🤣🤣

We lost 3NTVB4's chocolate kit to hypothermia i believe, my husband said it hopped in the water bowl while we were away and couldn't get warmed up after. Then upon removal of it, I noticed two others in the box with nestbox eye 😫
Hopefully we can clear it up! More than likely I suspect we will have a couple of ghost eyes 👀

We also snagged a pair of blue dutch from Stelzer. So now we are up to 4/9 accepted colors to show.
