This will produce an all black litter, Puck & Roux are both smaller framed dogs as well. Puck has shown to be able to accomplish high level results at a young age. Puck has his first Grand pass at 23 months, 3/3 at the Master National and a Qualifying win to boost his resume. Roux is one of the hardest working dogs I’ve stood over just always giving her best effort. Roux retained a perfect record on her way to her HRCH title, showing a talented & compliant animal. With this litter I’m looking to beef up the chocolate bloodlines for the future, and produce Labradors that are highly biddable, hardworking team players. I’d like to see these pups go on to hunt test homes and trainers, they will also make great hunting & house companions. Both parents are health tested as well. Pups will be EIC tested and come with a 26 month hip and elbow guarantee.

Fig and I were back on the road again this weekend. We attended the UKC Elite Shed Dog Series event at Richland Creek Antler Dogs, LLC. Fig picked up 2 more qualifying scores to earn her Working Shed Dog title (WSD). Thanks to Luke and Sarah for a quality event and also all the sponsors.

She is now “HRCH UH WSD Fig”

Faith “Red Collar” learning what hides, wingers, and bumpers are all about. We will be working with her in the next few weeks while we straighten out some paperwork. She will be available to the right home in the near future.

HRCH UH Fig and I headed to NW Missouri to play in the snow and run the UKC Elite Shed Dog Series event at Salvation Shed Dogs. Being new to this game I wasn’t sure if we would be able to compete. Not only did we compete but Fig had a clean sweep and took 1st place all three days taking overall fastest time in the Working class. This also qualifies her for the Nationals and needs just 2 more qualifying scores for her title.
Big thanks to the Selby family and all the sponsors for a great event. The fellowship and food was fantastic.

The HRC “Grandaddy of them all”! This is what we train for! It is held twice a year and requires 2 passes to receive your Grand Hunting Retriever Champion (GRHRCH) title. The pass rate is about 25%. It’s the toughest hunt test in the world. We will be headed to Georgia in the Spring and Missouri in the Fall to try our luck! Yes …. no matter how good of a dog you have you need some breaks to get a pass!

“Red” collar female is back. She wasn’t a good fit in her new home. She will be available for discussion in the next few weeks. She has great drive, knows basic commands, good recall, crate trained. She is up to date on all vaccines and monthly prevention meds. She is 15 weeks old. Competition/hunting home preferred.

2023 Year End Highlights/2024 Goals

2023 was another stellar year for the SCK crew. We saw the dogs do great things, saw areas that need improvement, and as handlers had a few bad weekends that cost a few passes. We missed our goal of running the fall Grand due to having little puppies at home that needed our attention. We will be stepping up our game in 2024 and asking a lot of our young dogs.

Here are some of 2023 highlights:

- HRCH Piper accumulated 250 HRC points going 19 for 21 all before 2 years old
- HRCH Kindle achieved her HRCH title at 15 months old and currently sits at 160 points. Super proud of what she has done at such a young age for such a high drive dog.
- HRCH UH Fig went 4/4 to achieve her Upland Hunter (UH) title. She whelped a beautiful litter of 8 puppies from FC AFC Chosen. You will be hearing more from that litter in 2024.
- HRCH Ranger switched handlers this year and him and his best buddy Blake Wollerman got some ribbons and learned some lessons. They also got the opportunity to hunt and made the most of it.

2024 Goals:

- Run Spring and Fall International Grand and shooting for new titles
- Run AKC Master Hunter tests and add a few letters to the back of names
- Run Fig in UKC Elite Shed Dog series and add a new title
- Make Willow “the best dog she can be” and hopefully attain HR title

One year ago today my Mom passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was a loving mother of 9 but could also provide retribution when we needed it. We had a huge weeping willow tree in the backyard and she would send us to get our own switch (and it better not be a little twig) to receive our whippin’! Those willow switches taught us many a lesson and we are better for it! I sure do miss my Momma!

Today I introduce SCK’s Momma’s Retribution - “Willow”. She was the first pup born here at SCK from the Chosen/Fig litter. She was the biggest puppy and the first to do everything. I typically lean toward a smaller frame but she had an attachment to me from the beginning. In reality, I didn’t pick her she picked me. We have big goals and will do our best to make her the best dog she can be!

What a great weekend for the Chosen x Fig pups. Four of them met their new amazing families, one is waiting on a plane ride to her new home, one is waiting on a ride on Santa’s sleigh, and one is staying right here with us. We are excited to see what these pups can accomplish. We want to thank these families for letting us be a part of the addition to your family.
Snow Creek Kennels will be well represented in Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas, Louisiana, Indiana, Missouri, and Illinois!! These pups will be running hunt tests, hunting, snuggling on the couch, and enjoying time with family.
