Hello, I’m Victoria Hanson, the owner and sole operator of Bugle Summit Equine LLC. I am a single mother to a 3 year old little boy and I am retiring from my 15 year Law Enforcement Career to share my knowledge and passion of horsemanship with the community. I grew up in a humble household in Kuna Idaho that did not have a lot of money. My father managed to get the family an ornery Appaloosa geldi
ng he later named “Towtruck”. I learned a lot of hard lessons on Towtruck growing up. I also rode several other horses throughout the years participating in Playdays and Team Penning. I made ALL the mistakes a person could make with horses - it’s a miracle I survived my childhood. In 2012 I attended Texas Horseshoeing School and became a Farrier as a side hustle to my Law Enforcement Career. During this time I began researching horse trainers and learning horsemanship. Being a new Farrier, I took on clients none of the other Farriers wanted, because they were inexperienced horse owners. Most of my Farrier appointments became mini training sessions for the horse and their owners. I couldn’t afford to get hurt doing Farrier work so I offered my clientele a mini training session to see if I could get the horse safe enough to trim its feet and the results were often phenomenal. Working with “problem” horses became addicting because I found I could change a horses attitude into a willing partner quickly while showing owners how to accomplish this themselves. In 2013 I purchased my little buckskin mare Jade and trained her myself, she has been the best riding companion for the past decade. In 2015 I left Farrier work to pursue my career goal of becoming a Patrol Deputy. I continued to help friends and family with their horses in my spare time and I started spending extensive amounts of time exploring the trail systems of the Payette and Boise National Forests riding my mare Jade. In 2019 I became a mother. At the end of 2019 I returned to Patrol to continue my career. Life took an unexpected turn in 2020 and I became a single mother. Over the past couple of years it has become difficult to keep a full time Law Enforcement Career. This has pushed me to start a business to follow my passion - teaching horsemanship. If you want to learn the fundamentals and basics of riding, training, horse care and much more, I am happy to assist you. There is no ego here, I came from humble beginnings and I can always learn something new. Horses have always been a vessel for overcoming challenges in life that I couldn’t have overcome otherwise. Horses are confidants, therapists and life coaches in profound ways. I hope to share these experiences with you as you join me. See you soon,
Victoria Hanson
