We had a good show in Cedar Rapids at APHA Zone 5! Congratulations to Sue Barker and Lopin Wild with top placings and points in am performance geldings, am showmanship, novice am horsemanship, and Jr western pleasure with Marissa. Love watching this team progress together, looking forward to Cloverdale this weekend! Big thank you to my mom for coming along and helping with Ellie. I couldn’t do it without you!!

We had a great time at the MPPH Christmas Party!! After eating and opening gifts, we got to ride horses all evening! Couldn’t have asked for a better party. Had a productive weekend at the barn!! Thank you to all of those that helped with the new round pen and stalls! And a big thank you to mom, brother, husband and especially my dad who never ceases to amaze me!!! Last round of chemo starts tomorrow and he is still strong enough to work at the barn without a complaint. We had a great time hosting the Northwestern Chapter FFA horse judging competition today! High school aged kids from 13 chapters participated. I was able to give a judging clinic and then judge 5 horse show classes and give the kids reasoning after the competition. I loved seeing all the new faces around the barn, they were a ton of help too! Thank you to Martha Carey, Emily Carey, Olivia McDermott, Lainey knight, and Monica Joon for all of your help this morning! Thank you to Matt Hampton the leader of Northwestern FFA chapter for organizing the event for the kids. The horses were so good and most importantly we all had fun!!

I am throwing the idea around to do a couple winter open shows for people in the area. They would be haul in only at this time and would start around 1pm on Saturday’s. Is this something people would be interested in? Just to keep people doing something all winter and riding their horses 😊

I have been hiding something that I am so excited about!! You asked and I listened! As of today, MPPH is moving to Palmyra, IL to Triple T arena owned by Roger Thursby!! I can not thank Roger and the rest of his family enough for the opportunity. So many exciting things to come! So far in the plans, winter clinics and tack sales.
