Some of you know and some don’t… we have a few token standards in our barn. One that I love dearly is a Sable who we call Alice. While managing standard breeds is totally different than Nigerians, we are finally figuring out the best way to do so. With that being said…we have been working on mini-sables too.

Okay, I have a VERY tentative breeding schedule. I may throw in an AI on a couple but TBD. We have some exciting changes in our lives coming up, so we may just live cover everyone this year.
A lot of this depends on how ready Freakn will be.
I’m not entirely sure how Wolfy will cross with our lines, so that is why he’s used lightly. Some of our 2024 juniors could be added to the FF list but I haven’t completely decided, so for now, they aren’t included.

I received an update on a doe that was a special girl to me. I wish I had been given the opportunity to buy her back like we agreed. However, I’m happy to report she is at a home who actually appreciates her. Thank you for taking care of her💕

With the young bucks coming up, I wanted to make sure our girls would get covered if they weren’t up for the large task. Wolfy is a touch out of our normal lines we work with but after seeing Ginger and Mystic at Nationals… my eyes were open. An unfortunate herd sell out occured and I couldn’t look away👀

We have given him a few days to settle into his quarantine pen and surroundings, and today I decided to shave him. He is long, flat b***d, BIG b***d, tight & sharp shoulders, pliable skin, beautiful brisket, open ribbing….and my favorite is a pretty level topline with a long and FLAT rump.

His dam is the very lovely GTB Farm BH Hail On The Hart. I know you’ve seen her pictures… with that very impressive FF udder that is so socked on (pictured below)! The snowflake line is so consistent and long lasting! I have so much respect for her.

Mr. Hail exudes dairy character. He has such soft pliable skin, open ribbing, angularity, sharp withers, and a really pretty neck. He will be paired with some of our does to pass on these extreme dairy traits.

I can’t believe we are rounding the corner for breeding season …🤦🏼‍♀️
We have been lacking on some introductions, so we will start with our only registered & only keeper buck kid for 2024. I do not believe in registering mediocre bucks, even if they are from GCH pairings! I have done my fair share of this in the very beginnings of my breeding, but no longer. The market is already so saturated…some bucks serve other purposes besides breeding.

✨Freckled F***y Freakn GoldRush✨

Freakn has so much to offer us. Starting with the foundation of STRAIGHT feet and legs that lead into strong, sharp withers. He has a neck that blends smoothly in the withers with a strong, level back. He may not look like the longest buck you’ve seen but he is balanced. I suspect he will follow in his dams footsteps, who took a little extra time to come into herself when compared to other juniors…but she is the top now. Keep in mind..he is only 4 months old in this picture!

His dam is probably one of my favorites in the herd: Agape’s Prize Freaky Friday. I could go on and on about her but I won’t… you just need to see her in person. Structurally she is the total package for me and not to mention her udder: the attachment, the medial, the long teats. It is a privilege to have her in our herd. She has already sweetened with time, and I can’t wait to see her next year😍
His sire is out of a doe that I strongly believe in- GCH Winning Streak CM Pumpkin Pie. I’ve talked about her so much, I’ll save you that spill.

I’ve been waiting on some photos to be uploaded and they still aren’t.. BUT I wanted to share our results at Nationals.
But first I want to congratulate my dear friend Donna, who owns Winning Streak Nigerians. I have believed in the goats, she has been selectively breeding and showing, during my 4 years of breeding Nigerians.. and that’s why I have so many🙈😝. As a herd, she has SO much consistency! Congratulations on your 2024 Reserve NATIONAL Champion & 2024 Premier Sire Award!

With the large numbers for each class, my only goal for this Nationals was to make the cut…and our girls made Top 10!

Freckled F***y Slickity was 4th place Jr Yearling!!!
AND
Freckled F***y Sassanech was 9th place intermediate kid out of 97!
AND
Freckled F***y was 9th place best 3 juniors out of 37 herd groups!!

Our yearling milkers just didn’t have the capacity after freshening early in the year and going through the heat wave we had back at home. We have learned our lesson and will freshen those going to Nationals in May next year

I have learned many things just from attending Nationals this year…
1. if you’re wanting to buy something go SEE that goat in person. You may love it or you may not.. somebody’s “wide” may not be your “wide”, somebody’s “flat, level rump” may not be your expectation of “flat, level rump.”
2. There are so many different styles of goats in each breed. There are so many NICE animals that attend a show like this. There are so many that aren’t chosen for the cut based off little differences and based off that judges opinion of THOSE animals on THAT day. Breed what YOU like to look at every day at home because at the end of the day, you’re the one who looks at them the most.

Some of you guessed right, you can’t just get one from Mark…we have purged a lot of our herd to make room for some exceptional animals that we’ve had the opportunity to buy. We have been in search of new herd sires to really take our herd to the next level. This guy is going to fit that bill! He has the most correct set of rear legs. Although you can’t really appreciate them in this photo. He tracks VERY straight & WIDE between the hocks on the move. Tight front end assembly with smoothness of blending among MANY other things.

Not a pretty shave but enough to see what this girl has…less than 2 weeks fresh wil only twin doelings and only a 12 hour fill.
Nice RUA showcasing the ideal U shape, RUH (bottom part of v***a can be seen), good teat placement, very smoothly blended foreudder. She could use more medial but everything else is definitely headed in the right direction!
This line is a little slower to development but totally worth the wait!

Yesterday was a wonderful day in so many aspects at Beat The Heat. Excuse my afternoon photos…I took off my white pants at lunch and exchanged them for shorts 😂 I have a photo with Don but that was even more of a hot mess 😂

🥇Agapes Prize Zippity Doo Dah was 1st in all 3 rings of yearling milkers. Most outstanding comments about being the “total package” with angularity, length of bone, depth of body, level back and rump, globular mammary nicely attached and smooth foreudder. Mostly I just remember Travis Cockburn saying watch out for her next year 😝

🥈Winning Streak CM Exotic Afair was in the Grand Champion line up twice in a huge class of 2 YO. Don Bergfield commented on her long lean elegant neck, depth of body, correct feet and legs, very attached mammary with long teats and a nice rear udder view. Basically just critiqued that if she has just a little more medial to her mammary, she would have taken it.

🏆Goat Addiction Enigma came out swinging earning a GRAND CHAMPION & BOB with over 40 milkers!! Leaving her with only 1 more leg in order to be finished. This morning she came in with a full udder even after yesterdays show! This year is her year, I just know it! She earned a reserve in the next ring…SO CLOSE to finishing her. She is powerful, wide, but yet dairy with pliable skin an udder that milks down to nothing, and upright head and neck. However, BIS went to a beautiful Nubian that definitely deserved it😊

I’m biased but she is one of my favorites. Long, level, angular, upright on pasterns with correct feet and legs. GCH Likity Splitz really does pass on that length and width of her rump.

All I can say is she is JUST like her dam Rosalia and I can’t wait to see her freshen! Rosalia finished as a 2YO FF😍

The Jr that took the entire show most definitely was my sweet baby. I truly am blessed with such a good baby boy. Never a cry or a fuss during the chaos💕 He loved watching all the goats and the people walking around. At this rate he’ll be showing his own goat in a few months 😂😂
