It’s time for our fourth annual yard sale fundraiser!!

🐱 Labor Day weekend! 🐞
🐾 Friday 8/28 - Monday 9/1 🐾
🐾 8am - 4pm each day! 🐾
🐾 24 Old Farm Rd in Spencer MA 🐾

All proceeds benefit the cats in rescue by paying for vital veterinary care and much needed supplies (food and litter)! The majority of the cats we take in require more medical care than the eventual adoption fee will cover—and that’s just if they’re a candidate for adoption!

We have house items, kitchen items, decor, clothing (adults and kids), toys, craft supplies, electronics, tools, DVDs, games, and so much more! We’re happy to continue accepting donations through the weekend, so new things may continue popping up each day!

We also have a bake sale table this year, and are running a donation drive for supplies for the kitties for anyone who wants to support them that way!

We hope to see you there!

It’s somehow that time of year again—we’re just days away from our annual yard sale fundraiser over Labor Day Weekend! (Non-animated version)

🐾 THE WHEN: Friday August 28th through Monday September 1st, 8am to 4pm (ish) each day!
🐾 THE WHERE: 24 Old Farm Rd in Spencer, MA! (Hosted at the home of one of our biggest supporters and some of our volunteers!)

We’ve been sorting donations we’ve already received, and I’ll post some sneak peeks of stuff on Thursday when we’re setting up. 😊 This year we will also be having a bake sale table (all ingredients marked and individually wrapped) and will be hosting a Pawsitive Provisions Food and Supply Drive, so even if you’re not looking to shop at the yard sale, we would love to say hi! And maybe a cookie will tempt you. 😉

For those still wanting to help out this way, we are happy to continue accepting items donated for the sale at any time! Please message us if you would like to donate items before or after the sale (for next year, and a new potential venture we are looking into, so stay tuned), and we will arrange a time to meet up or direct you to an address for donations to be dropped off at. Or, you can bring them directly to the sale over the weekend! We appreciate every donation we have gotten to help this sale be even bigger and better than last year!!

We’re also in search of the following items, if anyone is looking to get rid of any of these things from their spring and summer clean outs!
🐾 Outdoor tables of any size (folding not required, though they’re easier to store)
🐾 Pop up canopy tents (and one 10x10 frame, as I have a cover but not the frame for
🐾 Clothing racks
🐾 Clothes hangers
🐾 Collapsible shelves (or shelves that are easily put together and taken down for storage)

Please share and interact with this post to help it gain visibility! 😊🐾 Thank you all for the love and support as we dedicate ourselves to saving cats and kittens!

It’s a little delayed, but here are in introductions for Momma Kiwi’s litter!

We have the girls, Peach and Cherry, and the boys, Mango, Goji Berry, and Clementine (aka Clem)! They’re a rambunctious and playful group, but Kiwi is barely more than a kitten herself, so she can keep up with them for sure. ❤️🐱

The boys were neutered this past week, and momma and the girls will be spayed soon. Our hope is to adopt them out in pairs if possible! ❤️

Hey everyone. You may have noticed we've been a little quiet here lately, and I wanted to take a moment to share why with a tribute to a special cat, Finn. ❤️

Recently, we lost of one of our family cats to cancer quite quickly at just 11 years old. Finn was a large presence in the home and a deeply loved member of our extended family. Eleven years ago, he was the first kitten I brought home from work (and not just from finding outside, haha). Just a fluffy little thing of only 3-4 weeks old who was certainly too young to be away from his mom, he quickly stole our hearts and immediately bonded with my mom. He was rambunctious and loved to chew on things, earning him the nickname Shark Finn! The first 3 weekends he was home, he and I went to the drive-ins together, just the two of us (I’m pretty certain his favorite was How to Train Your Dragon 2). 🐈‍⬛🍿

As a tiny kitten, he also formed an incredible connection with our world's-best-dog, who we sadly had to say goodbye to when Finn was only 2. As he grew in the gorgeously fluffy cat he was, it became clear that he also had a special nurturing spirit for babies, always taking the kittens that I brought home under his wing and spending his time with my young nephew. Though those that did not know him may have found him intimidating for his size sometimes, he was just a baby at heart himself. 💕

To our dear Finny-boy: You were just… the best boy (even when you were biting me as I groomed you). You purred with a healing force, snuggled fiercely, expertly helped raise kittens, and loved to play and eat and live life. We will forever cherish the countless memories with you, our fluffy boy, our Shark Finny. ❤️🐾

This loss hit us hard, and we needed some time to grieve and focus on things behind the scenes. Even when life gets tough, the daily care and love for our rescue cats never stops, so sometimes that means stepping back from social media to take care of all the cats with the care and attention they deserve. We are so grateful for your patience and as always, your continued support. We're back now and ready to share more updates and adorable faces with you all! 🐾💕

Some people love cats that want constant attention, and other people like cats that enjoy sharing space but not necessarily close personal space. If that second person sounds like you, and you have a cat that would love another cat around, have we got the cat for your cat (and you) — meet Nova!

This little 1-year-old lady came in with her three siblings as older feral kittens, and their foster has done a lot to work with them! Though she might not want to be a lap cat, Nova is a lovely little cat who absolutely adores other cats, and she’s ready to find her home. 💕

Read more about her on PetFinder! https://www.petfinder.com/cat/nova-76976513/ma/douglas/ladybug-cat-rescue-inc-ma566/

Please like, comment on, and share this post to help quiet Nova find the right home to settle into! 💕🐾

Saffron (and her foster housemate, Kiwi) were introduced and some sneak pictures of their babies were posted… but their names were never announced! 🫢 whoops—better late than never!

Saffron surprisingly only had 1 kitten in her litter, and I can’t believe he turned 9 weeks this week! I’ll post updated recent pictures this weekend, but for now, meet Basil! 💕🐾

Kiwi had 5 kittens, and I can’t believe they turned 9 weeks this week! I’ll post individual name introduction photos this weekend, but for now, meet Mango, Cherry, Clementine (Clem), Peach, and Goji Berry (Goji)! 💕🐾

I gave Scottie, Finley, and the Professor a quick intro after introducing Angelina (and announcing her adoption, all in one post! 💕). In those posts, I mentioned that this was a group of 6 kitties that were caught for TNR that we agreed to take on after a regular foster for us evaluated them as being social enough for her to work with after they received vet care and were spayed/neutered.

Well, the break down on numbers was that 2 of them came into our care being pretty close to ready for adoption (and 1 already has been), 2 of them came with a surprise medical issue needing to be addressed (dental work on both due to broken canine teeth, eek), and 2 came with a pretty confident judgement from our foster that she believes they can be socialized and shouldn’t be released, but they will definitely need time, and the right homes when they are ready. We’ve seen her do some pretty impressive work with socializing former feral adults, so we have confidence they’re in the right hands for that.

So, with that big intro out of the way…. Meet Bethany (dilute tortie) and Kent (tabby)! 💕🐱 Their faces upon seeing me—a person they don’t know—show that they aren’t fully sure of people yet, but they’re starting to come around to the idea with time.

Meet Spruce and Juniper! 🐾💕

Spruce (white stripe up his nose) and Juniper (smaller and without white on her face) are a little over 5-months-old, and if they look scared in their pictures, well… that’s because they are! Though they are young, they spent the first 4.5 months of their lives outside, learning from their mom and their family group how to survive outside. And while many kittens born outside do grow up to become the adult community cats we TNR, the sad reality of kitten season is that many of them will not make it to adulthood—so I keep telling these two that they’re lucky to be inside now! 💕🐾

This brother and sister duo have been with us for 4-5 weeks so far. Spruce was trapped first, on Earth day! It was only fitting to give them names to match. Juniper took a little longer to trap, but thankfully her brother was only alone for a week. They are undergoing some slow introductions to human life and socializing, and I expect we will have them for a few months until they have learned to trust, but it’s worth every bit of extra time to not have to release older kittens. 💕🐾

When we started trying to trap this group, there were three heavily pregnant cats among them. We did catch one a little while before these guys, and thankfully we caught the kitty, who we have called Hazelnut, just in time for her kittens to not be born outside! Sadly, we did not catch the other two before they both disappeared for about a week before I started seeing them come to the feeding area again, suspiciously less round. I’ll be on kitten watch in about 2-4 weeks and will work to trap the whole family group, kittens and adults together, quickly while the next group of kittens are still young! 🐱
