Want to see proof of why rescue groups like ours who focus on TNR and community cats are necessary? Just check out this picture of our outside feeding station for the community cats (and whatever other critters snack out there, birds and squirrels being frequent flyers at the bowl as well!) that my partner sent me this morning!

Many of these cats are young, and we hope to be able to trap and socialize most of them. Those that will not accept human attention will be vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and returned to the colony where they have multiple indoor spaces to utilize freely (with permission from the humans who own those spaces) in this neighborhood.

We rely heavily on donations from our wonderful supporters in our TNR efforts, as cats that cannot be adopted still cost us money in vet care and supplies without anything partially offset by an adoption fee. If you want to hell towards our TNR efforts, we are grateful for every share or every donation—even a few dollars helps!

February is National Spay and Neuter Awareness month! Recent studies show that more than 75% of household pet cats are spayed/neutered, but that does not mean the risk of overpopulation does not exist. Rather, now we focus much of the efforts on TNR (trap-neuter-return) and sterilizing and vaccinating community cats to work against a growing population of cats outside without homes. Our organization started out this way, and our goal is to increase our efforts towards this project in 2025!

Cuties Nova (grey) and Caprice (silver tabby) have been coming along well with their socialization, though they were still skeptical of me when I stopped by to check on another kitty yesterday—they do only know me from the vet’s office, really! Nova was hiding the cat I was there to check on, but she was quite agreeable to be moving her from the cat tree so I could look at him. Caprice loves her hammock!

Now that they have been spayed and are up to date on vaccines, and their brothers have been neutered, we’ll be starting the process of looking for their homes soon!

Well, I can’t introduce our newest intakes from 2025 without introducing all of our 2024 intakes, so it’s time for everyone to meet Boo and Squirrel!

These boys were transferred to us from another rescue after they were neutered at the very end of 2024, and they recently had their intake exams with our vet and are doing well with their foster so far! Though they aren’t brothers by birth, they seem to have become chosen brothers, living outside together and still being very cuddly with each other. Boo is estimated to be about 3-years-old, and Squirrel is estimated to be 1-year-old.

I was able to stop by to take a peek at them and take a few quick pictures yesterday so I could finally introduce them, and as you can see, they’re not sure how they felt about my intrusion. 😂 I plan to take some better pictures to get them officially posted for adoption once I get my “portable photography studio” set up. For now, enjoy their cute but skeptical faces! 🐾💕

Our baby Fievel is home, and all is right again in our family! 💕 Thank you all for your well wishes and especially to those that checked in with us, as well as for everyone’s patience with updates and posts, over the last few days after he was admitted to the ICU for a blood transfusion and hospitalization for 3 days.

I’m ecstatic to say he has now been home for 36 hours and has been doing well since I picked him up! We will recheck bloodwork at the very beginning of next week to see how he is doing as far as his blood cell counts and anemia, but he is already much brighter and happier than he was before going into the hospital, and I am comforted by that. Here’s some photos from his first night home, a hello in the car and a long night of settling on the bed (featuring Lucy, too!) for some good rest outside of the hospital. Though I’m told he did well, I know it’s hard to sleep in that environment.

The first photo is classic Fievel if you know him—he rubs on my face so much that he knocks my glasses off multiple times a day, and he did it as soon as he came out of his carrier in the car for a snuggle after I picked him up before we started the long drive home. 💕

Thank you for all your support, even when it’s not a cat in the rescue! 💕

I don’t post about our personal cats often, but just as we did a year ago when our cat Basil had emergency surgery and a feeding tube placed, I am once again asking the cat people in our lives to send their love and positivity to our own kitty as he was admitted to the ER today for blood transfusions, imaging, and hospitalization. Fievel is a big part of my heart, and I have raised him from 9 days old (over 9 years ago, now). Adopters may recognize him as one of the two who greet everyone who enters our house. Leaving him there was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do, but I know the wonderful doctors and technicians at Angell will take great care of him. 🐾💕

I appreciate everyone’s patience with updates on intakes, adoptions, and medical cases. I do have some updates to post in the next few days on all 3 of those topics! For now, though, I’m just waiting for the next update on my boy. 💕

🎶 On the 11th day of 2025, maybe I’ll finish introducing our 2024 intakes 😅

Meet Nova (grey girl), Caprice (silver tabby girl), Astro and Camino (brown tabby boys)!

Their foster picked the theme for their names, and my coworkers and I picked which ones. Any guesses on what the official theme chosen was? 😊

These kitties are now about 8-months-old and have been in foster for about 2 months as they realize that life with humans is actually pretty cool. They’re already making great progress, and I’m certain that just like their siblings from a previous litter that we got last year as older kittens (Fern and Jade), they’ll make great companions with a little more time and learning how to properly, well, “cat” like cats do!

Some photos from their foster, some from when I stopped by and said hi and took some pictures, and some from right after getting them (and in one case, before we got them, because it was a cute picture!). 🐾💕

This is amazing news for cats in our state, and we hope many more are to follow! 🐾💕

It is now illegal to declaw a cat in Massachusetts, unless medically necessary. Thank you Governor Maura Healey for signing this important bill into law, and your commitment to animals in the Commonwealth. S. 2552: An Act prohibiting inhumane feline declawing prohibits the declawing, onychectomy, dactylectomy, or phalangectomy of a cat. Declawing involves the removal of the claw and the first bone of the toe. The operation is usually performed on the front feet, and is in fact an amputation comparable to the removal of all ten human fingertips at the first knuckle. Thank you to sponsor, Senator Mark Montigny, and Joint Committee Chairs State Representative Tackey Chan and Senator John J. Cronin for your support and determination in getting this legislation to the Governor's desk.

We also want to thank Senate President Karen E. Spilka, Speaker Ron Mariano, Senate Ways and Means Chair Senator Michael Rodrigues, and House Ways and Means Chair Aaron Michlewitz for your leadership this session. The House and Senate both showed that animals, wild and domestic, are important to Massachusetts, with the passage of 5 animal protection bills.

2025 is here, and I still have 2024 intakes to introduce - whoops! 🫣 Let’s start with these boys…

These brothers are looking snazzy in their permanent tuxedos and will steal your heart with their voices — meet Jake and Elwood!

Nope, you’re not seeing double, but these bonded brothers are double the fun! Sweet, curious, and constantly purring, we know everyone who meets these two will fall in love as fast as we did when they came to us. These boys have been with us for a few months now, but we wanted to give them time to adjust to all the changes they’ve gone through in life at just over a year old.

Here they are posing for pic it’s with churu bribery, and being pretty good sports about their holiday Snoopy sweaters! Alright, Jake didn’t let it stay on long, but Elwood kept in on until I took it off him. He was willing to keep wearing it for the churu treats, let’s be real. 😂

**Foster home still needed for a pair of kittens needing socialization for adoption!**

These two are youngsters from the same colony as two older kittens we took in last year (Fernando and Jade), as well as the four older kittens we recently took in (intro coming soon!). Though they’re currently very scared, I am confident that they will socialize well with an experienced foster due to our experience with the older kittens from the colony, especially where they were already being socialized by the colony caretaker.

We are looking for a foster for this pair for ideally a few months while they are socialized and gotten ready for adoption. They will definitely take some time to work with, but it’ll be a rewarding experience to get them to trust people! They have not yet had vet care as we cannot officially intake them until we have a foster ready to take them in, so their foster will need to be comfortable with this. Their foster will need to be able to get them to vet appointments in Millbury MA.

We provide the supplies, you provide the soft place to land along with the time and love needed to socialize them to get them ready for a home!

What life with Beaker is like — this cat is truly amazing! 🥰 He is affectionate, playful, funny, loves hugs and to be held, and has a super purr. He is such a wonderful boy!

I think he’ll be ready to start looking for his forever home at the turn of the new year in fact. He’s up to 8 pounds! This is amazing considering he came to us on death’s door weighing barely 5 pounds, and lost more weight before making his turnaround. We are extremely proud of him! We are forever grateful to our veterinary team at my job who helped save him, and the Good Samaritan and her son and husband who found him, rescued him from a tree, and got him help with us. Because of this little group of people, he has been given a wonderful chance at life!

Of course, we are still paying off his vet bills that came to close to $1500. If you would like to help with those, or would like to share this post, we would be so thankful!

An announcement from the Meowtown Airport… we have lift off of the airplane ears! Little Amaretti has been slowly turning around with a change in the way we’ve worked with her, and I’m happy to say we can no longer call her “airplane ears” as we could before!

Amaretti has come along for sure, and though she’s not always impressed with me (swipe for the second picture, haha), she has started acting more like a normal kitten — she has definitely gotten more comfortable, trusts us more, and feels safer now. She plays with toys and her brother, she meows at us, and she comes to the front of their condo to greet us at times. She is starting to take food from me and will sometimes eat with us in the room. And, she no longer has her ears so flat like she used to (swipe for the third picture)!

When her brother’s eye problem is resolved, they’ll be looking for a home together, but for now we’ll continue working with this little lady on realizing life is much better as an indoor kitty than as a feral kitten outside! 🐾💕

This past weekend was a busy one - part 2!

We’re excited to say, happy adoption weekend to Lorenzo and his new family! His meet and greet went wonderfully over the weekend, and he settled into his new home so quickly it’s as if he was always meant to be there. He has someone home with him all the time, which he absolutely loves and follows her around all the time already. 🥰 We are thrilled for him and his future!

Here are some pictures of him in his new home, settled in like the curious, playful, and adorable boy he is! We adore getting updates like this, especially so quickly. Congrats to his new family, and thank you to his foster for helping him get ready for his new home! 🐾💕

This past weekend was a busy one - part 1!

Saturday was our drop-off day for our Savers FunDrive, and while we didn’t come anywhere near the lofty goal I had set (before I realized how many pounds that really was!), I got the email today that we DID raise close to $100 from the generous donations we received and from cleaning out some of the older yard sale fundraiser stock, and that’s awesome for our first time trying this fundraiser out!

In total, we had donations of…
*Clothing, shoes/accessories, and linens: 446 lbs
*Miscellaneous household items and decor: 154 lbs
*Books: 21 lbs

Thank you for all your support! Here are the photos of our donations from when we dropped them off (and I forgot to get one of our FunDrive team, which I’m disappointed about!) - all the bags of clothing and linens piled up neatly on the cart to be weighed, a photo of all the bags separate to show how many, and the boxes of household goods and books on their cart! 😊

Lorenzo says hi! 💚 I got to say hello to him while I dropped off monthly parasite prevention for all the kitties at his foster’s house, and he is truly such a sweet boy - this photo was taken right before he flopped abs rolled over on the cat tree. 😂

We’re excited to say he’s pending adoption once he has his meet and greet! 🐾💕

I’m not sure when the last time I posted this girl was, but she seriously deserves to be talked about more often with how sweet and silly she ended up being — Jade is a unique girl who makes me laugh and smile every day as she figures out what life is like as a house cat!

Jade is Fern’s sister, if you remember him from last year. They came to us as older kittens, and while Fern socialized pretty quickly, his sister did not give me any signs that she wanted to be with people. I even tipped her ear when she was spayed and planned to release her, but I kept waiting for some reason. In my heart, I just knew there was a sweet cat underneath just vying for love, and I was willing to wait it out with her.

I was not wrong! Here’s a video of her making biscuits and rolling around on her high shelf perch.

Jade is now 1.5 years old and though she is still figuring things out, she is absolutely ready to look for a home of her own. She LOVES her toys and her wet food (in case you can’t tell by her round belly, haha!). She gets along well with other cats and would likely benefit from living with a friendly and confident cat to learn from.

**FunDrive Collection Update: Due to unforeseen circumstances and the cold weather, I will not be outside Pet Supplies Plus in Milford today as originally planned, but I can be available to meet for pick up pending your location! I am also available to meet in the evenings most days until the 12th when we finish collections! Thank you for your understanding!**

Message us on here or email us at [email protected] to arrange meeting for pick up or drop off!

We have a little less than a week until our drop off date for our FunDrive collaboration fundraiser with Savers (savers_thrift) and we’re collecting donations through the 12th! Later today I hope to have an update on how much we’ve collected so far and where we stand towards our (set extremely high for motivation!) goal once myself and one of my awesome volunteers organize some of it!

Thank you for all the support! Please share this post to help us in the last few days of this fundraiser, as every share and every donation helps us help cats!
