Puppies…who doesn’t love a puppy? So cute and cuddly…and lots of work!
Ok, you’re talking to a customer who’s getting a puppy. How can you help them?
pawTree has LOTS of solutions that can get this puppy and pet parent off to a good start.
Here are some things to consider:
First let’s talk about nutrition. Puppies need lots of quality protein and fat for healthy growth. We have several great options both grain free and with healthy grains to choose from. Know that a small breed puppy is a puppy for 12 months while a larger breed is a puppy for 2 years. Any of our foods with the AAFCO statement that mentions “growth” means that it’s formulated for puppies.
Remind the new pet owner that free feeding may not be optimal because it may lead to the puppy having diarrhea and accidents in the house
However puppies should be fed 3-4 times a day to ensure they always have something in their tummies so they don’t throw up bile.
Treats – healthy treats are important for training and building trust. Remember to break up each treat into 3 – 4 smaller pieces to maximize training time and minimize calories!
pawPairings for the added nutrition and antioxidants
Dental Sticks – this should be started after they’re four months old, once they get their permanent teeth.
Gastro Pro Plus to help keep their digestive tract healthy. This will help with the consistency of their p**p and stop them from eating p**p.
Urine Eliminator and Oxy Shot because accidents happen
Quilted Dog Pads for training and to use if your puppy has been trained to a “Potty Patch”. You can put a Quilted Dog Pad between the grass and the tray to absorb the urine and eliminate a lot of cleaning and mess with the tray.
P**p Bags to pick up after them in the yard or on walks
Puppies are such a joy! But they are a lot of work! Make sure they have the best nutrition to build a strong, healthy body. In the long run, you’ll be happy you did because you’ll have a healthy, thriving pet.
