Adoption and placement of WarmFuzzys cats is ongoing and may still take a bit of time but we are indeed making progress.

With cancer, a stroke, and three heart attacks, my health has been an issue but there is possible good news on the horizon. Due to the complexities of my heart issues, I am not a suitable candidate for bypass surgery but there is a special team at KU Medical Center that can perform an experimental procedure and I have been accepted into their program. Already postponed once due to another heart attack, they now consider me stabilized and a viable candidate and surgery has once again been scheduled, this time for October 5th,

The procedure is considered high-risk, but I have no other options. If the operation is a success, I will be able to spend a little more time on the grassy side of the dirt. If, on the other hand, things take a tragic turn, I will be with God, Joy, and all of the fur babies that have gone before. Either way, I win.

Thank you for your prayers and ongoing support. I will let you know how things work out...or someone else will. 😉

Talk is Cheap

Honey's elderly 'owner' passed away and the siblings wanted nothing to do with the cat so they dumped her at KC Pet Project and walked away. Honey became quite distraught over the explosive change in her life and she began lashing out. She was labeled a biter and the staff at KCPP was terrified of her.

While at KCPP, Honey was diagnosed with cancer and she lost an eye, which didn't help things any. Her kidneys began to fail and for a short time, they treated her but abandoned that treatment due to her unpleasant demeanor. To recap, her owner died, the family dumped her at "the pound" where she lost an eye and was abandoned in a cage to die because they did not want to treat her kidney issues....and she bit anyone who came near.

WarmFuzzys and others found out about Honey's situation and began a search for someone who would step in and help Honey. Lots of talk, lots of talk, lots of cross-posting and no one stepped up. Talk is cheap and Honey was spiraling out of control.

I finally stepped in and said, "Enough! I'm bringing her home." Joy was not a fan of the idea and assured me that they would find a home soon. I replied that talk is cheap and that Honey would be my personal project.

The adoption process was weird because KCPP kept thinking we were going to foster Honey. "No, she is coming home." They were even afraid to put her in the carrier that we'd brought, and I assured them that she'd be fine and not to worry.

Honey wasn't mean, she was terrified. It took a while to gain her trust and eventually, Honey even became my bed buddy. She sat next to me every day and crawled in bed with me at night. We would listen to music together. (She loved country Gospel music) and we took her to the vet three times every week for intravenous fluids and kidney treatment. $$$

For the longest time, Honey did not want anything to do with anyone else but me but over time, Monty, our ambassador kitty, figured out her combination and they sort of became friends. One night, Joy and I were sitting on the sofa with some of our fur kids and Honey scooted over and cuddled next to Joy. We looked at each other and sadly shook our heads because we knew. Whenever there is a sudden, radical change in an animal's behavior, take note because they are probably saying goodbye.

Two days later, Honey's blood work went off the charts and she passed away. My heart was ripped from my chest over the loss of my one-eyed cranky old lady. With loving care, we gave Honey nearly one more year of life. She would have surely died a painful death in a short time at KCPP because no one took the time to understand what was happening in the fur kid's life.

Talk is cheap. If something has been cross posted 2-3 times, step in and do something. Rescuers rescue, cross posters cross post.

I miss Honey but I know she is waiting for me on the other side. I also know that taking care of this little lost soul made God happy.

Honey is but one of the hundreds of success stories at WarmFuzzys.
Yes, Honey was my personal mission as many others have been. I probably brought in as many critters as Joy did and I've still got some projects I am working on.

Step up and make a difference in someone's life and collect those success stories. It might not mean anything to anyone else but you and that life, but you'll know and sometimes that's all that matters.

I miss you, Honey. Take good care of Mom until I get there.

Joy suffered for a very long time and she NEVER gave up.
I was always there for her. Always.

This is an excerpt from my journal. It is painful to go back and read these entries but even more painful when people sully her legacy and summarily dismiss what I did for her. Note the date and then tell me that her passing was sudden.

What is your limit?
When will you give up?
Who will be there for you?

Is this page worth saving? Is there a redeeming quality or should I flush the turds and walk away?
Joy doesn't deserve the drama that has grown in her abscence and neither do I. I will not tolerate it.

Some here will never have anyone who loves them as much as I loved Joy and she loved me. Is that what this crap all about or is it just evil festering?

Why the lies?

Since Joy's passing, people have moved in and some are spreading lies. Here is the truth.

I do NOT have access to WarmFuzzys finances or bank accounts.
Joy designated someone else as TOD on the accounts and it was not me.
There is NO family member helping me work with an attorney to gain access.
I have already spoken with an attorney and there is nothing I can do.
"Someone" logged in to the WF page, removed my access and changed the admin password.
You have to ask yourself, why would someone do that?

Why would someone sully Joy's tremendous legacy? Why would they p**s on her grave?
This will stop IMMEDIATELY!

WarmFuzzy has not closed. Yes, we are working to adopt cats out o the shelter but the work continues.
Yes, I have multiple health issues but I am NOT stepping away to focus on them. Whoever said that is lying and God will deal harshly with those who lie.

Look at the attached pic taken yesterday. Does it look like I am stepping away?

Love wins. It may take a bit of time and patience, but love wins.

4/29/2023. RIP Josephine. It took a few years but you went from hating people to a lovey lap cat.

Josephine is a Female black feral who has been with us since 2010. Her sister is Kimi and her brother is Buddy.
