The cold is coming! Be mindful of pets outside. If they can’t come in, please provide them with warm blankets and adequate shelter.

Also please shut down any humane traps that you might have set. Be safe and keep your pets warm!

Windy conditions are expected both Tuesday and Friday. A cold arctic airmass will start spilling south late Friday, and will bring much colder weather by the time we reach mid January.

Don’t give up on that new adopted animal. It can take up to 90 days before they are set in their new routine. A lot of them come from different environments in another home, or off the street. Make sure you are fully committed before getting that new pet.

It's hot out there! ☀️ Even hotter for trapped furry friends!
Keep weather conditions and temperature in mind when setting traps and don't leave trapped friends unsupervised.

Unfortunately this poor girl got too curious about chickens in a backyard and got herself tangled up in netting for over 12 hours.

The netting was cut off and she was safely removed. Other than a swollen leg, dehydration, and being extremely exhausted, she is expected to make a full recovery 🤍

She is currently being cared for at the shelter until she is back to 100% 🥰

Hey Duncanville! Please read and share this important information shared by Animal Investigation & Response

You have plenty of time to get those ID tags on your pets & make sure those microchips are updated.

Have a safe & happy 4th. 💥 🇺🇸 ❤️🤍💙 🐾

Please take precautionary steps to ensure your pets are safe this weekend!

that more pets go missing on July 4th than any other holiday?

Fireworks can often be terrifying and overwhelming for pets as they are more sensitive to loud noises and flashing lights. Be safe out there, and keep your pets safe inside! Here are some essential precautions to ensure your pet’s well-being:

🔹 Keep your pets indoors throughout the celebration (as well as the days leading up to the 4th and after). Loud fireworks can cause anxiety and distress, and a secure indoor environment will help them feel safe.
🔹 Engage your pets with treat toys and special treats to keep their minds occupied and divert their attention from the booming noises outside. A tasty distraction can make a big difference!
🔹 Create a quiet sanctuary for your furry companions, such as a cozy carrier or crate. This safe space will provide them with a sense of security and comfort during the fireworks extravaganza.
🔹 Take your pets for a walk earlier in the day, before it gets too hot and well before the fireworks start. This way, they can get their exercise and bathroom breaks without being exposed to noise and potential hazards.
🔹 Ensure your pet's ID tags and microchip information are up to date. In case of an unexpected escape, having current identification will significantly increase the chances of a swift reunion.

Let's make this celebration a safe and fun time for EVERYONE, including our beloved pets! 🐾🎆
