The donkeys, ponies, and sheep decided the hay is too tasty to just hide in the barn like the goats and Mootilda!

If you see snow sitting on an animal's back, don't be worried! Healthy and happy animals have a nice thick winter coat that is so well insulated even snow doesn't melt when it lands on their back! This is a good sign and means the critter is nice and warm.

Bell the Redbone coonhound and Mootilda the mini cow were gossiping yesterday while we were feeding everyone. It's quite adorable to see how they interact with one another, especially when Bell goes into Mootilda's territory and they play chase! We worried the first few times that Mootilda was trying to hurt Bell, then worried that Bell was chasing Mootilda out of prey drive but neither hurt the other and just kept running around like hoodlums!

What weirdos haha!

We've been busy so sorry for the late posting!!

Julie came home Friday and is recovering wonderfully at home. The Feral Daughter has been her nurse whenever Nate and Sam are busy. Plus the dogs have been giving her plenty of snuggles. Plenty of friends have been checking in on her and a few have come to visit.

We spent two days helping Thistle Creek Farms moving bales! It was a rush to get them home from their other fields before the bad weather came in. Thankfully we got them all back before the rain began yesterday.

Everyone stay safe this week with the bad weather coming as well as Thanksgiving!

Our fingers are crossed that Julie will be coming home today! Everyone is missing her dearly and can't wait for her to be home from the hospital!

While Tuesday night was full of worry and a drive to the ER, Tuesday afternoon was full of excitement.
Our main buck Blaze has his herd of ladies with him plus two beautiful does from Thistle Creek Farms . At Thistle Creek, three of Blaze's daughters were split between two of their large bucks. Anne and Saturday, our two smallest does, were put with her small buck.

DJ also went to Thistle Creek to enjoy three lovely hair breed ewes. Our new ram, Tank, will be home in December to enjoy his ewes here. We are so excited to see all the babies we will get next year from both sheep and goats!

We ask everyone to keep Julie in your thoughts and prayers for the next few days.

Julie was taken to the Northfield ER for extreme pain and vomiting last night. Early this morning she was transported to Ridges in Burnsville. It was discovered that Julie had a massive kidney stone that blocked a tract which caused an infection. She had surgery today for a stint to be placed and will be kept for observation till Friday.

We will have some bunnies ready for new homes! Once we s*x them we'll be able to give you all more info!

For now, there are two Harliquiens, two Mini Rex/Harliquien crosses, and two French Lop/Velveteen crosses. In about a month we'll have two litters of Harliquiens and a litter of Mini Lops ready for new homes as well.

Keep an eye on us for a more detailed post!

When you're trying to get photos of all the goats and one just HAS to be a camera ham 🤣

Nova here was very insistent to get her picture taken. We just couldn't resist! She is a half Kiko half Alpine doe who's given us some stunning bucklings over the past few kidding seasons. Hopefully this year she'll finally grace us with a beautiful little doe. Maybe a copy of her! Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Who else has a camera hog who needs to have their picture taken when you take out your phone or camera? Share with us in the comments!

What a way to finish up another Veteran's Day 😮

We hope all our veterans and service members had a safe and lovely Veteran's Day! Our veteran spent the day with her daughter and her father getting errands done then went out deer hunting with both as well as another veteran and his two kids. None of them saw anything but still had a great day in the woods!

It was finished with admiring the rare northern lights (for us) and sharing pictures with friends. Be sure to head over to Thistle Creek Farms to see their pictures of the northern lights!

There were so many beautiful pigeons at the show yesterday and some amazing breeds!

Pigeon shows are the best place to see different breeds and meet the breeders of those breeds as well as learn what the standard is. We often compare a pigeon show to attending an art gallery since they look like amazing works of art! It's like flying art work!

The Feral Daughter had a blast at the Minnesota State Pigeon Association show in Hutchinson, MN today! Granted she did take a good nap because of her allergies kicking her butt. Still she got to show in the Junior show and the Junior showmanship show!

She got a Junior medal with the rest of the Juniors from the main show but did well for her age in the showmanship! The group decided to have age classes for showmanship next year so we are super excited for that!

Her Cream Schietti Classic Modena Peaches got reserve best of breed while Creamy, her other Cream Schietti Classic Modena got to be part of both Junior shows. One of our white Saints got Best of Breed in the Saints class while the Zitterhals placed second and third in their class. Overall a very good show that showed us how our stock is doing!
