Sun Mountain Kennel was started in 1976, when we purchased our very first Belgian sheepdog male, Reddy, Ch. Lorjen The Red White and Blue. This beautiful Male Belgian was the Bicentennial litter born the 4th of July 1976, to Roger and Maxine Ellis, who owned the magnificent Ch. Stage Fire O'Ebon Will(Terry Hendricks) female, Casey. Casey was one of the youngest Champions ever, as both a Regional a
nd National Specialty and Mutli Group Placer that went on to have many, many quality Champions to her name. Our next Belgians were the beautiful Ch Lorjen Michele My Belle. Shelly, was about six years old, when Dutch, CH Lorjen Flying Dutchmen, came to live with us as a 10 week old puppy. Dutch unfortunately passed away at the age of six, from lymphoma . Our next Belgian was Ch. Chancery's Captain Kidd (Linda Mizrahi ). Captain was about 18 months old, when we attended our first National Specialty, in PA, were he was awarded 2nd in the 18 month division. We also attended the show to pick up a new puppy, Ch. Lorjen's Elegance in Black, and a gorgeous puppy she was. She became our foundation bitch, and was bred to Ch. Chancery's Captain Kidd and produced Champion group winning , very long lived children. Our next generation of Belgians came out of two top Kennels, Chancery(Cheryl Corsen) and Sumerwynd (Dennette Cockley). We purchased our Lizzy , Ch Chancery's Can't Buy Me Love who earned her Championship, with limited showing, taking winners, best of winner, BOS or BOB, over Specials. Entering her in the Raritan Specialty weekend, she went BOW for a 5 point major, to finish her Championship. That same weekend, she was bumped up to a special, and went BOS at the Herding Group Specialty. Within a year we also purchased the beautiful Jolie, Sumerwynd's Yours Truly, Jolie. At the age of eight months, Jolie went to her very first show, The Raritan Specialty. Jolie was awarded Winner Bitch for a five point major, and received an AOM. She went on to easily finish her championship, with limited showing, and like her very first show, in her last show, she went on to receive BOW at the Herding Group Specialty for a five point major. Jolie also finished her Championship that same Speciaty Weekend.
