Harley is a strong 130lb Great Dane that was very reactive to seeing dogs, and anxious is various situations. Handling her was very difficult and created limitations.
It was so important for Harley to be able to open up and express herself through play and freedom. Along with changing her emotions and perspective when seeing dogs.
This video shows her reaction to a dog all the way across the street before training. Followed by walking by a variety of dogs in situations, and being able to run free with some recall which she truly enjoys.
Olivia was such a skittish girl in many different situations. This was with doors closing, people moving, cars, noises, different objects, etc.
Confidence does not grow within a typical training approach by learning a sit, down, heel, or place command.
The focus with training was getting Olivia to feel as good as possible overall to be able to handle a variety of situations with confidence. This was giving her a purpose and being able to express who she truly was with minimal limitations.
Building her up where we are truly working together. Playing with objectives, where she knows how to win, taking on environments as a team, and exploration/freedom are some key things for her success.
This boy Ricky was a fun one. Cattle dog mix that had aggression issues. He started attacking dogs in off leash scenarios. He would run up, and jump to bite on the back of their necks. Also he could not go on a walk without flipping out seeing a dog even at a good distance away. This would result in a quick approach if allowed.
Training a dog like Ricky there are so many different things to take into account. I never jump in and look at how I can stop this behavior.
I want to build the best relationship that I can with him. Allowing and teaching him to fully express who he truly is to become his best self. I want to show him that were in this together and create emotional balance and feedback.
Changing his state of mind and perspective in social situations to help him make the right decisions. While still being able to guide and communicate with when appropriate.
I missed some good video opportunities but the outcome of Ricky's behavior changed him and his owners life.
Kevin is a very energetic dog that needed freedom to really enjoy life to the fullest. It was also very important to create interactions that allowed him to express his innate instincts, and create a very special bond with his owner.
This fluffy australian shepherd definitely did not like new people or dogs. He felt anxious in closer situations, but also felt uneasy with people he have met plenty of times, and resort to biting to create space.
Even going out on walks he was on alert and did not present confidence.
It was so important to feel better about himself and have a different perspective.
Molly the Great Pyrenees Mix. Molly's owner used to take her on hikes all the time, until her behavior of lunging and barking started happening. This prevented her from being able to handle her in a variety of situations, and would get quite intense in situations.
After training and a new way to interact with her, Molly is back on the trails doing the things that the both of them love.
This big boy would get very worked up when seeing dogs.
Shumaq was very apprehensive with new people and dogs. This would result to biting in closer proximities. He needed to have a different perspective and feel much better about himself.
Momo the Afghan Hound was very charged up seeing squirrels, and being a sighthound, would see them way before you would. This would result in a full sprint towards them. Along with getting very worked up when seeing dogs. This made it very difficult for his owners to do the things he enjoyed.
Jarvis had a fearful response of unfamiliar people in close situations. He had a bad past experience with a dog, and anxiousness when walking around.
Getting Jarvis to view his surroundings differently, become more confident, and have a purpose was so important for his success.
Cassie came to me anxious in various situations. It was so important to provide the feedback that she needed to open up. Along with building her confidence by expressing herself in the things she loves. This is all about working together and truly understanding what she needed.
Murphy never thought training would be so fun
