Last week, I was tagged in a post to help a husky that was going to be put down in NYC. I decided at 11:40am (he was going to be put down at noon that day) that I would foster him until we found him a home. Today, after MUCH back and forth throughout the week, we finally brought freedom to this boy. He licked me when they opened his crate to come out of the van. He also enjoyed his first burger because he definitely deserved it! Welcome to the Adirondacks where you belong buddy! Check out the zoomie video in the comments

🚨🚨🚨WARNING-Upsetting Post🚨🚨🚨
The day after we had 7 cats abandoned in our parking lot, a dog was tied to the front door at 11pm and she died. It was dark and rainy that night…
All we will say for now is that she was not a stray who was found and brought here.
It’s taken us a minute to recover enough from this traumatic experience to publicize this very disturbing and heartbreaking act proving our point that a pet is your responsibility until a SAFE and RESPONSIBLE alternative is found.
We hope her suffering is a learning experience for individuals who approve of abandoning a helpless pet alone in the darkness, your comments are encouraging this desertion.
We are available 7 days a week from 8am-5pm and there is absolutely no reason to place animals in harms way after hours.
We named her Betty. Betty didn’t deserve this, do better.
All shelter are screaming mayday, we will get to you, your pets deserve dignity and your patience-we are doing the best we can.
We will update you on Betty as the investigation allows, the person responsible has been arrested.

***Update of the 7 cats abandoned*** One of them required an emergency vet visit because she was pregnant and struggling with an unattended labor that she endured alone through the night and not found until staff arrived the next morning. Again, reiterating the disservice you are doing to your pets that you purportedly love by not properly transferring ownership providing us with information we need to properly care for your pet. Had we known, she would have received the care and attention she deserved providing preferential monitoring for her fragile condition.
The quality of life you give to your animals is a reflection of you as a person. Please stop subjecting them to unnecessary discomfort and anguish.

What a shame.

We have had to close all of the new trails on Little Moose Mountain and all trails on McCauley Mountain. Apparently all of the signs and fences telling people to stay out of the construction zone didn’t work. A few ruined this season on the new trails for all of us. The trails on Mac’s Back and Maple Ridge remain open. Don’t ride closed trails!

Remember those beautiful newborn German shorthaired pointer puppies I posted about that are here right in old forge!? Well, look how insanely cute they’ve gotten! There are still a few available if anyone is interested (besides me!! I’m dying to get one!!) shoot me a message and I’ll get contact info for you. I’m hopefully going to meet them on Friday and I’m sure that’s going to be a horrible decision on my part! They will be ready end of August if you want an incredibly loveable, sweet, insane baby! Getting Maggie was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! 🐾🐾❤️

The 4 besties together again! Its been a pretty crazy summer here and it took me a while to get them all back at the same time but today was the day! Harry (GSP) Daisy (GSP) Gracie (doodle) and Wyatt (cute brown baby) Paisley was there as well, hiding from the madness. Harry is the GSP that I am always posting about in the life jacket. He used to just sink. With some patience, and Daisy helping him, I got him to fetch a ball with the life jacket on. He usually just stands in the water. Well, I decided to take it off of him and see if he would go after the ball. With no hesitation, he went in over and over and further and further. This might have been one of the biggest accomplishments of the summer! I’m so proud of you Harry! Next, dock diving! We have him quite often so make sure to stay tuned for his constant entertainment.
