PATHOGENS IN RAW MILK RESEARCH 🥳🥳🥳: This paper challenges incorrect assumptions of the past that have been used to overestimate the growth of pathogens in raw milk. 🧐🧐🧐 In "Suppression of pathogens in properly refrigerated raw milk," authors Peg Coleman and Dr Tom Oscar detail the results of purposely adding pathogens into raw milk and then measuring pathogen growth over a period of two weeks.

In this small pilot study with raw milk stored at the recommended refrigerator temperature, moderate to high counts of E coli 0157:H7, Salmonella spp., and Campylobacter spp. did not multiply over time.

We have started to cull out the birds for the season. They were old and no longer laying.
They will now feed the LGDs and it will be one less chore for winter.
Maybe add some in the spring but the cost of chicks…maybe just keep buying fresh eggs from others.

Happy November!

Dunshire Ranch is looking 👀 to help our community …in an after-Halloween pumpkin 🎃 clean up effort!

We would love to put to use, your carved or uncarved pumpkins…but also corn 🌽 stalks, sunflowers 🌻 , hay or straw bales🌾 , and any leftover garden 🪴trimmings, fruits 🍉 🍇 🍈 and veggies 🥒 🍅 🥦 !

Our dairy goats, ducks, and chickens love ❤️ these beautiful end of season scraps…please ensure anything donated is rot or mold-free and pumpkins are free of any paint or wax - as all items donated will be happily consumed by our animals!

We are located at 928 w state st in Eagle! Just swing on by and drop your donated goods off near our fence…unfortunately we have no capacity to pick up this year.

Thank you ALL for your generous donations and ongoing support of our veterans & nonprofit ranch - the help is so appreciated!

Please PM for donation receipt requests.

Goodmorning! Dunshire Ranch is sharing our natural culinary & homesteading knowledge and experience today …without cost, through our nonprofit. Other than their time - Dunshire Ranch volunteers, donors, veterans and their families just have to show up, learn and participate…in exchange for cider, snacks and an evening learning about self sufficiency of processing your own meat - homesteading skills - a skill that everyone should know! If participants wish to purchase the chickens they cull, it all goes to help support our cause. :)

We are doing this free culling workshop tonite to show our veterans, volunteers and donors how to be more self sufficient - sharing in the bounty donated to our ranch. This is how we give back and support our community. I believe the high COL grocery bills, and fear of what’s in the food these days - is also why so many are moving more into bartering systems, raising thier own meat and growing thier own produce - and yet unfortunately, there are still some following the corporate culture of greed and oppressive corruption through these systems as well. It’s important to know who to trust and where to turn. No one likes a dictatorship.

Appreciate our community for keeping this veterans resource going and helping provide for our veterans. 😉

We look forward to seeing folks tonite at 5pm at the ranch - ready and willing to learn! Send us a msg if any questions or for more info. Let us know if you are joining us so we have a good head count! Thanks everyone!

Respectfully,
Jay & Leanna
