The first Moneigh Charity Auction in nearly 2 years benefitted ReRun Thoroughbred Adoption and After the Finish Line. The auction raised $8,662 for Off Track Thoroughbreds. Thank you to Claiborne Farm, Darley, Denali Farm, Gainesway, Hill 'n' Dale, Lane's End, Ramsey Farm, Spendthrift and WinStar for welcoming us to their farms to paint. Thank you to the auction bidders and auction winners, the horseracing media and fans for sharing and liking our posts, our photographer Carson Dennis, and, of course, the mighty stallions and Serena's Song that painted. She beat the boys with the winning bid of $1,050.

Our next auction starts the day after Thanksgiving and will include stallions and broodmares from the above farms and the pony horses Harley and Rip. Oh, not to name drop, but did we mention Flightline?

Thank you to the grooms and stallion managers for holding up their horse's leg so they could autograph their Moneighs with their hoof print. Some horses wore shoes, others were barefoot. They were all well behaved during the process.

The stallions and Serena's Song were a bit out of their comfort zone painting Moneighs for our Breeders' Cup auction. Some wanted to paint all day while others needed some encouragement. Thank you to the Kentucky breeding farms for this amazing opportunity. We can't wait to see the flurry of bids as the auction closes.

Their works of art are helping Off Track Thoroughbreds at ReRun Thoroughbred Adoption in New York with rehabilitation, retraining and adoption so they can transition into second careers. The proceeds also enable After the Finish Line in California to award grants to aftercare organizations across the United States.

There is not a more unique way to fundraise for Off Track Thoroughbreds. Our auction brings up memories of the races and feelings these horses gave us when their hooves stepped on the racetrack. Thank you to Darley Stallions at Jonabell for welcoming us to their farm to paint Moneighs with their stallions. We painted with Cody’s Wish, Essential Quality, Medaglia d’Oro, and Street Sense. All of these magnificent stallions are included in the auction. And, we had a previously painted Midshipman’s Moneigh that is also up for bid.

All of the paintings in our Breeders’ Cup Moneigh Auction have received at least 1 bid. It’s been nearly 2 years since our last auction and we are expecting a flurry of bids throughout the week, especially closer to the end of the auction. We have 18 original Moneighs up for bid to benefit Rerun Thoroughbred Adoption and After the Finish Line. Our charities exist to support and transition Off Track Thoroughbreds into second careers. Stallions, broodmares, and pony horses are helping us do this.

Hard Spun should get some carrots for trying. He let us know he did not want to paint Moneighs by sticking his tongue out at the paper. That's okay my friend. Not all stallions are painters. His good looks were enough for us to post his photos taken at Darley at Jonabell Farm.

How do the Thoroughbreds do it? With their hoof print & tail hair! Their tail hair gets tied in a bow and placed on the paper.

Isn't she lovely?! 32-year-young Serena's Song painted Moneighs to benefit ReRun Thoroughbred Adoption and After the Finish Line. She won 17 Graded Stakes races, including 11 Grade 1's earning $3,286,399. Thank you to Denali Stud for helping our charities raise money for Off Track Thoroughbreds.

Serena's Song's original Moneigh will be auctioned on eBay in October. Should we also make prints to sell?

Rerun is the largest rehab and retraining program in New York taking in over 100 horses per year.

After The Finish Line provides vital funding to other horse welfare programs so now proceeds raised by Moneighs for Rerun will have an even bigger and far reaching impact on Thoroughbreds in need!
