Not a post I wanted to make. I have been going through some of my collection and making some hard choices. The last few months I have been leaving all of the insectivores to Whitney. Why? Because I seem to have developed a pretty rough allergy to crickets and roaches. My eyes burn, I get congested in my chest and I sneeze like crazy.

I love these little lizards, but I need to find them a home that can appreciate them and not struggle with the feeders needed to keep these hair and healthy. Whitney has done amazing stepping in to help, but these are not her responsibility.

Because of this, I would like to find a home for this little colony of lizards. These are the Acanthosaura lepidogaster, the dwarf version of mountain horned dragons. They have produced viable eggs for me but I haven’t cracked the code, in my setup, for how to make those babies thrive.

If you would like to give these a new residence, please message me.

P.s. I also have one last female A Capra (larger mountain horned dragon) that also needs a home.

Hershel was out showing off the other day. He’s still looking for a home. If you’re interested in providing him a new address let me know. I will be requiring proof of animal knowledge and adequate caging.

Background, we picked up Hershel from a store that had him in a 40B and realized they weren’t doing right by him (we actually don’t know what s*x Hershel is). They called and asked if we had room to take him in. That was last winter. He’s come a long way since then. We’ve got him growing, and more social. He’s still not a cuddler but, at least with food in his mouth, you can help him shed. He also comes out while we’re in the room to see if we’ve got food. He’s getting to be a very confident monitor who, one day, might let someone hold him (or her). 🙂

These two did a thing. Meet Amy and Sheldon. Our Harris County TX locale speckled Kingsnakes. They had a few more eggs than this, but Austin made it too wet and all the eggs at the bottom of the pile didn't make it. However, the four good eggs have been hatching for a couple of days.

These Lavender California Kingsnakes are going to be ready in no time. They have already eaten twice with drop feeding frozen thawed. I will have them listed on my Morph Market page once they have another meal or two and maybe a shed. As long as they keep thriving, we'll make these guys available. Please message me if you are interested in one...or two:)

Two of the bachelors found a new home. Amanda has been asking a lot of questions for a few months and trying to get them set up correctly. She definitely has a great eye for enclosure set up and a true green thumb. We donated one bachelor because of her willingness to do right by the animals. Love to see these guys in a new home that can enjoy them.

Yesterday was National snake day. I got the most exciting news! I paired two different lavender types together this year. I was told they weren’t compatible, but I wanted hets to move into other projects. I also wanted to experiment with temps. I incubated at 79.5 degrees Fahrenheit instead of 82. Yesterday, after 76 days of incubation, an impatiently long two weeks longer than incubating at the higher temp, we had a bubbly nose poking out of an egg. This morning, we have Ruby eye lavender kings. Either the lavender’s are compatible, or the female (peaches) is het Ruby eye lavender. As more hatch and we see the full clutch, we’ll know more. Stay Tuned!

Happy snake day!!!
