Welcome to Tails ‘N Scales animal rescue and education Page!
I am happy to announce the birth of this Rescue and Education Page, and hope you all enjoy what I post! Let’s introduce how I got started.
December 13th 2019- As I was bringing my mother and father home from dropping a truck off to be repaired, I had felt drawn to Petco. I asked Mom to let me go in and she reluctantly said YES, and in telling me yes she said no more hamsters. As we walked through the doors I knew something was different. I saw a little sign saying “Female Hamster, previously sick. Needs experienced home”. I looked at my mom and said. “I have to meet her”. And we did. This poor Ham was sick, she wasn’t eating real well and she had mutilated her ge****ls. The person at the place explained she was on the mend of having wet tail 3 times. (This is false and I’ll explain why). I had brought her home, but she passed away 3 days later.
Wet tail is a bacterial infection of the digestive tract. Very similar to Parvo in Dogs. Once an animal gets better from it. They are immune. So this poor girl had Diarrhea and they treated for wet tail which, then gave her wet tail cause of all the stress on her system.
The night Agnes Passed away my life changed. I knew I HAD to do something about no one teaching about hamsters, or any animal, and some Petstores employees not knowing as much as some expirienced pet owners do. I had applied to over 10 places on that Tuesday. Thursday I was called by a PetSmart down in temecula, long story short, I was hired and I have worked there for 10 months! I love it.
The reason I am starting this rescue is because, over my 10 months. I have taken in over 20 animals to either, help pass away peacefully in a loving home, or to help them get better with any sickness to go to a loving home, or take from a terrible situation!
I believe it’s time we stand up and learn about new pets BEFORE we just throw money at a pet store. I do love Petsmart and continue to work every day there.
Listen, Learn, Love.
