I wanted to introduce Ms. Maple! She is our keeper puppy from !
She will be staying in my moms program and I am so excited for all our plans for this sweet girl. Today we went on a trip to the garden and Walmart and Maple has been so good all day! I hope to start posting more here but if you havenāt seen all of Lykas and Peninnahās puppies as they grew go and see them on my moms pageš¤
I guess I havenāt posted new pictures in a while but here are our Lyka babies! They are amazing š
Lyka and Rockyās 6 little phantoms are a week old! And look at little pink collars white on her muzzle!
ā¦ā¦ā¦
I laid yellow collar down to get his pictures taken and oh my goodness, he was like, ānope, I want to sleep.ā
Isnāt he adorable though!? He is the same color as one of our first cockersš¤
I canāt wait to watch his sable clear!

I wanted to officially announce Peninnah and Yantar/Kashtans litter on my BC page!
Here are our 3 boys and 4 girls! I canāt believe how beautiful and colorful they are and Iām really hoping we will be able to keep one back from this litter for some future F2 babies. We are currently waiting for their embarks to come in to know who the dad of each puppy isš¤
Well I thought I would post a little update here. So many things have changed in the last few months! My sweet Lyka and Peninnah are both due in about a month with F1b mini cockapoos. But, I believe all have homes because my mom and I will be raising these puppies over . We have retired Almaz because his hips did not pass our standards for our program and we ended up using a mini poodle with Lyka. And I am just so excited to meet and raise these little puppies. If anyone is looking for a cockapoo please follow my moms page for breeding announcements thereāŗļø
Iām hoping all Lykas future puppies will love fetch just as much as she does!
Iāve never had a dog that will fetch a ball and put the ball right into my hand or even throw it back into my lap but Lyka has been doing it since she was about 10 weeks old!
Well, I have some exciting news!
Lykas OFA elbow and patellas results are finally in! And both are normal! Iām so excited, a few more OFA tests and she will be ready to be bred this summer!
I did some research on thyroid and found out it can be an issue in cocker spaniels so I will now be adding that to my panel of tests. And then we have a updated eye check for next week for Almaz and Lyka. We are getting close!
Yesterday Lyka went to get her OFA elbows and patellas done! I canāt wait to see her results!
One of my favorite picturesš¤
Peninnah x Kashtans F1 cockapoos
I canāt believe these guys are already a year old!
Peninnahās most colorful litter, itās amazing to me how we have so many ways we can predict litter colors just by genetic testing and punnet squares, but at the end of the day it is God who chooses the color of each puppy. For example if an Ee dog (Peninnah) breeds to a ee dog (Kashtan) we know we have a 50/50 chance of each puppy being red. In both litters from Peninnah and Kashtan 6 out of 5 puppies were red!
Lyka was so tiny!š„ŗ
She was about 11 weeks old here! She will be 2 years old this June!
How cute is little Gracie?!
Looking at all these pictures is really making me miss summer and all the green treesš¤
There is something about brown phantoms that is just the cutestš¤
This is Ruby from Peninnah x Kashtans first litter of F1 mini cockapoos.

After going back and forth about who I am going to breed Lyka to this summer, and God willing, Iām hoping to breed her to Almaz! He is an F1b blue Merle phantom 20 lb cockapoo. This would make F2 mini cockapoos! We would have such a beautiful and colorful litter, I will share pictures of Almaz soonš¤
Day 3 of About Me!
Why am I a breeder?
There are so many reasons but the first is I love breeding! I love every aspect of it; meeting new people, raising a puppy that will one day grow into a familyās lifelong companion, seeing how much joy my puppies bring to their future homes. But thatās not all, there are so many other reasons I am a breeder. So I just want to share what I believe in raising my puppies the right way and why I am different than other breeders. First, my puppies are raised in my room, this way I am always able to hear if a puppy gets too far from mama during the 0-16 day period. As they get bigger expand their area as their little legs grow and they learn how to walk. Then, thatās when the hardest but by far most fun stage begins, we start āyesā training, sitting before they get their food, barrier challenges, and crate training. Now, you might wonder why I do all these extra things with my puppies. Well, it is to start your puppy on the path to success, I want my puppies to become amazing and loved family members. One of the biggest things I can do is start some of the training while the puppies are still with me. It helps the puppies learn to work for things, they learn how to take a treat or how boundaries they can overcome without crying. Every litter I learn new things, every litter I try new things, and at the end of the day, I try to see what I could have done better. A goal, ābreed for consistencyā; to better the temperament, structure, and coat type. A goal, āTo Better the Breed.ā
I wanted to share a little bit about myself throughout the next few days.
What Do I Do?
I am currently a student studying to become a future Speech and Language Pathologist (Yes! Teaching Kids Hopefully!). But, while I am not in school you can find me studying dog genetics, taking pictures/editing pictures, singing/learning new songs for church, and (of course) raising puppies (or just cuddling with them).
When did I start breeding?
In 2008 we had our first litter of cocker spaniels and I remember after our first litter went to their new homes I was begging my mom and dad so that we could have another litter of cockers. And thatās where it all started, little me trying to research things on breeding. I was obsessed, cocker spaniel puppies were my biggest childhood memory and I even remember having a dream that a poodle had somehow gotten in our basement and had a litter of puppies. This was years before we got our first poodle or even thought about breeding cockapoos. But, somehow I still remember all the details of that dream. After years of raising money, I was able to buy my first female and have my first litter of poodles in the fall of 2019.
Cooper from Peninnah x Yantar, he is the curliest puppy we have ever had born at Bitterroot Cockapoos. He is so beautiful and has an adorable blue eye! Thank you .e.n for sharing pictures of himš¤
