The situation these dogs are in other states, are no fault of their own. The culture in other areas is unlike what we see in the Northeast. Most dogs are not spayed or neutered and allowed to run free. They are turned in to shelters or just dropped off in a rural area for reasons most would not dream of... could be too old, chews too much, got too big, barks too much all which are "fixable". Whe

n a perfectly loving dog is surrendered by their owners or picked up off the streets, they can be euthanized in three days. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered (when old enough), HW negative, up to date on all vaccines(age appropriate) and have a veterinarians health certificate.

Update: Toad is on hold for now she needs some more time and training***

Serious inquiries only
Meet Toad, she was found abandoned and turned over vet due to some health issues and emancipation where she spent a few days. She is now in foster care

Estimated to be about 1.5 yrs, spayed, current on core vaccines, preventative care started.

Medical history, some limited vision with her right eye, we are thinking she has food allergies, she will require a special veterinary diet. She's a French bulldog, no surprise she will be high maintenance.

No small children, family knowledgeable with the breed.
Will need to continue to work with a trainer, she has some resource guarding with toys / food ( high value treats) not house broken, but working on, is dog friendly, especially submissive dogs. Seems fine with cats.

Home owners, no apartments or rentals.
If interested please submit application attached to this FB page and don’t forget to call your vet so we can speak with them!

Our Story

Oliver's House is an animal welfare 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs and puppies from overpopulated high kill shelters. We are a volunteer foster based group. We work with out of state rescues and shelter staff to help save lives of those that are considered throw away animals. Once a dog comes into our rescue, we do our screen applicants and find the best fit homes, given the dog’s breed and personality to the lifestyle of the adopters.

Oliver’s house also feels it is our duty to help educate people. We talk with those animal owners who are unaware of the importance of spay and neutering their pets, for both health reasons and to help reduce the overpopulation of dogs and cats. We explain the dangers of certain medical issues, such as heartworm and parvovirus and how inexpensive it is to prevent but so expensive to treat. We also discuss the importance of their dog being a good social citizen. Many animals are put down purely because of behavioral issues that get out of control.

Oliver’s House will never take a litter of puppies without also taking care of the Mom. We will vet, spay, and find her a new home in the Northeast. Sometimes an owner wants to keep the Mom. When this happens, our counterparts out of state, will work with the families. They will try their hardest to convince them to let us provide medical treatment and spay her, so she will not have another unwanted litter.

Many times when puppies come to rescue, they will break with the dreaded parvovirus. This can be deadly and awfully expensive to treat since it almost always includes days in the hospital ICU. All our animals are spayed/neutered at the time of adoption or in the case of young puppies we arrange it so they will be when they are old enough.
