UPDATE 10/17/24 @ 6 P.M.: Great news!! Abby and Radar have been adopted TOGETHER! They gained 3 new fur-siblings making a new pack of 5 fur-kids and Radar couldn't have been more excited!
Here's a video of our bonded pair, Radar and Abby, having fun playing in their kennel. They would be so depressed without each other after being together for 6 years. They only weigh 25 lbs combined which is nothing more than a small dog! Don't miss out on this ready made pair!
DID YOU KNOW?
πββ¬Today is National Black Cat Appreciation Day! πββ¬
Black cats are one of the least adopted cats in shelters all across the nation and it's just because of the superstitious history given to them. Most people don't know that sailors actually thought black cats were GOOD LUCK and took them on board their ships. We have a few here that would love to show you how good they really are!
Stop by today to see for yourself!

Dunkin is one of our senior dogs currently up for adoption. To Dunkin, age is just a number. He came to us in 2022 as an unclaimed stray. Back then he had what appeared to be the marks left from a collar. Today, those marks have faded and he's just a happy dog that bounces between his kennel and bed inside, to the outside kennels for play time during cleaning. We've come to believe he was probably kept as an outside dog for most of his life given his lack of housetraining (to be completely honest). That doesn't make him any less deserving of a forever home though! Dunkin is content here but being the senior he is, he is developing arthritis in his hips and really needs a home that can give him a soft, comfy bed to rest on and a fenced yard to patrol whenever he feels it necessary. That doesn't mean he can be a yard ornament however. He likes to play tug and loves to chase a ball so he still needs his humans to interact with on the regular! Someone special will get to love Dunkin just the way he is for the rest of his days. Is that someone you?

This video was taken after some stacks of food were already moved to the last bit of open space we had in the back kennels. Insane!

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month!
As much as we try to explain to visitors that the dogs will act crazy but they're not always like that...we usually get looks of skepticism. π
Some people get upset to see the dogs acting crazy in their kennels and think they never get to rest. We promise, they do.
The dogs settle into the routine and relax and become comfortable with those people they see every day. The dogs that have higher anxiety get extra time outside and a little more attention from us until they've settled in.
One of our employees was able to catch these "before and after" videos of the dogs in the back kennel area and made a little presentation out of them. Make sure your sound is on - just not turned up too loud. π
When you're looking to adopt, remember that you're a stranger to them and some dogs aren't always the friendly, outgoing, extrovert kind. They've been abused or starved or abandoned and they need their trust to be earned.
