Healing Hearts & Horses Inc

Healing Hearts & Horses Inc HHH is a Georgia based 501c3 nonprofit that rescues horses from slaughter pens across the US. HHH rescues horses from slaughter houses/kill pens. .

After rehabilitation, our horses are shared with groups including veterans, first responders, special needs children and foster children for special events. We adopt horses of various types, ages and varying levels of health. We rehabilitate the horses and invite groups to our farm for weekend events to meet the horses, take trail rides, groom the horses, etc. Our retreats focus on veterans, first responders, at-risk youth, special needs children and children in foster care.

Our trainer took Graham out for his first ride yesterday! We have given him time to settle into his new home and while we have a few things to improve, overall he did really well!

While we are a horse rescue, we love animals of ALL types! Most of our friends are deer, foxes, and geese, but lately we have had an armadillo hanging out and even a sweet raccoon (who likes the late night)!

Happy new year to one and all. We are praying for all those affected by the recent attack in New Orleans. We’re posting one of the last pictures of Georgia…in her “G” hat, hoping that she can watch over all of us with her angel wings bec this world certainly needs more of that right now.

Friends, as we come to the end of the year, please consider a tax deductible donation. Georgia’s care came in over $5000. Sweet Buddy was diagnosed with EPM and has needed two rounds of very expensive medicine for treatment - over $3500. These are the unexpected costs that make rescue so difficult. We have changed grain, we have changed hay - we have started a sponsor a horse program but we don’t cut back when it comes to their health. We make such a HUGE impact with the groups we serve - and . Please help if you can! The horses say thank you!

We’re heartbroken to share that Georgia was euthanized on Christmas Eve. At 28, we knew an impaction was not good news. She was in the hospital for 6 days and we did everything we could for her, but she took a turn for the worse and was suffering. This horse was AMAZING! Rescued at 26 (yes, we take the old ones too), we found out that she once gave horseback riding trips to tourists on the beach in S Texas and then was in a petting zoo. She was the absolute BEST with young riders. With a heart of gold, we say goodbye to this sweet angel of a horse. She absolutely NEVER should have been at a slaughter house. None of them should be, but especially her, who only gave her very best to everyone who knew her. We love you Georgia girl. Go find Camille, she will welcome you with a Heavenly hug and scratches.

Update: Winston had a fever so we ran bloodwork. He was given antibiotics and was able to come home. Georgia is staying at the hospital…she had an impaction and it’s just taking a long time to clear. Prayers appreciated!

Winter is so hard on us and the horses. Loading up Winston and Georgia (who was recently home after several days in the hospital) for emergency vet care. Pray for these sweet souls…we’re doing all we can!

Update: we have a $5000 match all day…help us maximize it by doubling your gift!
Today, on this Global Day of Giving, we humbly invite you to join us in continuing our lifesaving mission. Your gift to Healing Hearts and Horses—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit—is 100% tax-deductible and will directly support our work to rescue, rehabilitate, and repurpose these incredible animals.

Rising costs due to inflation have touched every part of our work—from horse feed and grain to veterinary care. Despite these challenges, your support has enabled us to save more horses from the heartbreaking fate of slaughter, offering them not just safety but a renewed purpose in our programs for veterans, foster children, and women recovering from s*x trafficking.

Thank you for believing in our mission and choosing to make a difference this Giving Tuesday.

Your generosity is not just a donation; it's a lifeline for the horses we rescue and the people they help heal.
