We hope you find a reason to smile today! Bruno was saved from a slaughter house after being dumped by the Amish bec he’s blind in one eye…but he is still enjoying his life and very loved as a rescue! At only 12, he’s a great age to help with our veterans, foster kids and other programming!

Please help us welcome Oreo to the rescue! We got a call from a local who said she could no longer afford her horse and she did not want him to end up in a slaughter pen, so if we couldn’t take him she would put him down. We told her to bring him over. He’s a great horse that should be a good addition to our programming. He’s already fitting in well!

We haven’t posted in a few days as we grieve the passing of two of our sweetest mares. Last week we were able to shower Duchess and Noelle with Queen treatment before giving them the last act of kindness to end their suffering. It’s the hardest part of what we do, but it happens when we take the horses that no one else wants. We loved them for six years and both passed with dignity and love. We will never forget them.

Three combat veterans and their beautiful wives joined us in Georgia at the Healing Hearts and Horses Farm for a marriage retreat.

Each couple spent time alone, investing in and fortifying their marriages, and together, sharing their stories and lightening the burdens on their hearts.

Thank you for your prayers. She is in recovery and the surgeon said things went well…we are grateful that she’s getting great care. ❤️🙏🏻🐴

Update: They are recommending surgery, which they’ll do tomorrow morning. We will keep ya’ll posted. 🙏🏻

We could use some prayers for our sweet Liberty who had to be transported to the hospital around midnight after we couldn’t get her up. The vet was coming in the morning, but we couldn’t wait. She is getting antibiotics and will be seen by a surgeon this afternoon. If you could please pray for her recovery, we’d appreciate it. She’s the only horse ever born on the farm when we saved her pregnant mom from a slaughter trip. We were honored to share Mother’s Day weekend with the youth of Wilderness Works! We rode horses, made bracelets, hiked, groomed and even did some roping! What a blessing to have beautiful weather to share God’s creation with this group!

I am a Percheron/Quarter Horse cross, and they tell me that I am a perfect lady!
