Audrey's TNR Program

Audrey's TNR Program Audrey's TNR Program is dedicated to helping the stray cat population by spaying and neutering.

**UPDATE**
We now have space again!!

We’re excited to announce that we are now offering FREE spays for pregnant cats! This program is strictly for outside cats that are pregnant and will be returned outdoors after surgery. This program is not for your indoor cats or cats you plan on rehoming.
We will cover all fees and all you have to do is trap the cat and drop off/pickup.
All cats will be spayed and receive an eartip.
Have stray pregnant cats outdoors that need to be spayed? Please message us!

**This is temporary program till June. Please take advantage of this opportunity while it’s here**

It’s been quite awhile since we’ve posted and unfortunately it’s because our TNR program hasn’t been running. But we have great news to share with you guys!! We plan to bring back our TNR program this summer and would also like to introduce a new program for owned cats but we want YOUR opinions so we can make it fair for everyone.
We plan to offer low cost spays for owned female cats only. This program would be specifically for low income owners that are unable to afford a spay.
Now we need your help so we can get this program running as soon as possible.

•For those unable to afford a spay, what price would you feel comfortable paying? $10, $20, $30, other?

•What other help do you need? Transport to and from the clinic?

•How do you feel would be the best, safest, and most comfortable way to confirm low income status? Id, food stamps, other?

Please feel free to leave your feedback in the comments or message us! We want to be able to help out as much as we can but need your help in order to make this happen.

After working for over a year to help decrease the population of cats in the RGV we’ve been able to successfully spay and neuter over 1,000 cat’s since June 4th 2020 to today.
As we end the month of august we will unfortunately be temporarily suspending all spay and neuters of non pregnant cat’s from August 20th to June 1st. It breaks our hearts to have to do this but unfortunately we no longer have the resources that we used to have. We hope to be able to do small amounts of cats throughout the year but only time will tell right now.

We will continue to provide our spay services for all pregnant cat’s throughout the entire RGV and RGC. With that being said, if anyone has a pregnant cat needing to be spayed please text us at 956-778-0750 and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

We hope all the cats that have been through our program are doing well and as always, we’d love to see updates! If you haven’t already, please feel free to join our TNR alumni group and share pictures of your colony cat’s!

Do we have any cat lovers out there that would be interested in sponsoring a spay/neuter for a stray cat?
For just $40 you can help change a cats life for the better. Not only will you be helping that one cat but you will be preventing hundreds if not thousands of kittens from being born in the valley.
We have been getting at least 10 strays fixed weekly and we are very low on funds. We are doing our very best to get as many spayed as possible but without support we can not keep on doing what we do.
If we have helped get your stray cat(s) fixed please help us by donating to other cats in need.
Interested in sponsoring a surgery? Please message us!
For every cat you sponsor, you will also be able to give them a name!

•Have you ever seen a cat with an tipped ear?
What does it mean?

If you see a cat with an eartip that means it is part of a TNR program! A TNR program get the cats spayed/neutered, vaccinated, put on preventives, microchipped, and eartipped!
An eartip is a universal way to show a cat has already been fixed and doesn’t need to be trapped again unless they are injured or unhealthy.
If you get an outdoor cat spayed/neutered PLEASE get them eartipped. Without an eartip they can be trapped and brought in for surgery again. It can all be prevented with an eartip!!

•What do you do if you find a sick eartipped cat? Bring the cat to any vet or shelter to get scanned for a microchip. A cat that has gone through a TNR program will be microchipped and should be registered to either the program or colony feeder.

•Need advice on where you can get either your stray or personal cats fixed? Message us and we can give you information to low cost places!

Elizabeth is rocking her eartip! No babies for Elizabeth this kitten season
Huge thank you to all the colony caretakers that are bringing in their strays to get spayed and neutered. With your help we are slowly making the RGV a better place for cats🐾

FACT: Kittens are fertile at 4 months of age!

Your adorable new kitten -- or the litter you've been feeding outside -- is able to reproduce at 4 months old. Please don't let them bring more kittens into this overpopulated world; make sure your cat is spayed or neutered by 4 months of age.

Most vets will spay/neuter when a kitten clears the two pound mark -- which is roughly around 8 weeks (2 months) of age. Consult with your vet, but please make sure your pets -- those inside and outside -- are altered before their reproductive hormones begin raging.
