2023 was another great building year for the farm ✨

We built four new shelters/stalls and paddocks, re-fenced an entire field with our fav RAMM horse fencing, re-worked some land, and welcomed a few more boarders!

We’re so pumped for 2024, we have some cool plans in the works and crossing our fingers we can make all our dreams happen… in the next decade. If only money grew on trees 😂 But in all actuality, we do have some fun and exciting projects we’re hoping to knock out in 2024!

The barn wouldn’t be the same without Sheen and Chantel and since our big bay mare has had some time off, I offered to hop on and she did not disappoint! A little fresh but honestly, how fun to ride again! I’ll always have a heart for the thoroughbreds.
A good day for Simon and Kenza too. Finally getting everyone back on their horses 😅

I don’t normally celebrate horses birthdays BUT our two personal and SAINTLY Quarter horses have the same birthday today! Kona and Simon are legit angels in equine form. I wouldn’t trust any other two horses in the entire world with my mom or husband. They are the kindest, sweetest, most loving, and forgivable horses you could find. They know their jobs and that’s to take care of their people 🥹 Our Simon boy turns 10 and our girl Kona turns 14 today.
They are our forever residents at Sakuma Sporthorses ❤️

✨Boarder Openings!✨

Located in Bow, WA.
We will have some paddocks opening up in April!

We offer full care or partial care 12x18 stalls with 18x110 runs attached (half gravel half dirt), tack room, alfalfa hay, and access to two outdoor arenas (all-weather sand-150x130 with outdoor lights and a fenced in hogsfuel-70x125). We may have some larger pasture space available in the future but will only have the paddock space at the moment.

We live onsite and can be flexible with different care plans, packages, and needs! The most important thing to us is finding down to earth individuals and happy horses for our small private farm. ☺️

✨New year, new opportunities!! ✨

Our trainer, who has filled our barn with training and sales horses, is moving to bigger opportunities. We will be looking for a trainer to fill her spot with their own training or sales program OR some new boarders here in Bow, WA! The most important thing to us is finding a down to earth individuals and kind happy horses for our small private farm 🙂

Castle, our 4yr old baby thought today was a bit overwhelming. This guy is absolutely built on springs and is stupidly athletic. It’s like he floats across the ground. I’m legit so impressed with Sarah’s riding today. He was very green and she rode him so well through all his processing moments haha.

The new shelter came and looks phenomenal!
It’s like our big red (green roofed) barn had a baby 🤣
We had our biggest horse on the farm check it out, and she approved!

We are in the process of adding these two new paddocks and this was the missing peice along with the fencing yet to come! We still need to add the rest of the gravel but SO excited for how our two-stall shelter came out 🥹🙌🏽

We are so excited to be bringing a great trainer to our facility this fall! Sarah trains the whole horse and rider. I promise, there’s a reason all of her horses can go around bridleless and ba****ck, she works on the WHOLE horse! She doesn’t skip the basics and foundational work. A true horse woman.

I’m excited for her to help me develop/sell ottbs and to watch her grow her own business! I’ve been dying to partner with someone to grow my Ottb sales and I’m crossing my fingers we can do so now!

-Tearing out the old white fencing to put in two new paddocks using the black hot rail fencing.
-Digging out dirt, laying carpet down, and covering with gravel to create mud-proof areas for our other fields.

Horses. They can really be the most humbling creatures at times. Yesterday, Donny thought a cross rail was going to eat him. Today? He Hacked around on the buckle, could care less that I moved the fence up, and didn’t blink an eye at anything of the chaos in the fields. Those are the moments I definitely need with this guy. Those moments show me that he’s worth every ounce of time put into him. He gives such an unbelievable feel over fences and just carries himself in such a way, you know he’s going to be special. Even though this is still a tiny fence, I’ve only ever jumped him over cavalettis. It’s so fun feeling that effortlessness in a horse.

It takes a village. Last week we bucked 500 bales of hay straight from the field and 200, 100lb alfalfa bales in one day. That’s a total of 700 bales in 8 hours 🥴
