Today I worked with Franklin and Birdie. Birdie is new to Franklin's home so we were working on helping their mom gain leadership. We worked on building Franklin's confidence and skills to help them become comfortable with each other.

All 3 students got an A+ today!

We had a great session with Blaze and his dad! Blaze will be completing a basic obedience course with us to help him become a better canine citizen. They did a great job with the place command yesterday & his leash manners.

There is so much going on here in this video.

Let's start with why we have been hired to help this family: We were contacted to help with training after this family acquired a new rescue dog. Boo came into the family extremely nervous, and unfortunately, it was just a little beyond what the family was capable of handling alone. Boo also didn't know how to be a dog and how to properly interact with dogs, and they have a resident dog named Patch. Patch is your typical buboy he is loving end the headed all-in-one lol and also easily excited. And although he is dog friendly it has been some time since he has had a playmate so he also needed to learn boundaries. So we were brought in to help build confidence work on manners and obedience.

In this video it is our 2nd lesson together And both mom and dad have been putting in the effort with their daily training sessions as well as hand feating to help build a relationship and Have a reward and tool for loring without creating unhealthy habits (to many treats).

Patch has quickly caught on to the game of luring as mom lures him into a roll. We have also implemented leash pressure to help steer us into directions that we want such as a down and a sit. This is proof That you will get out what you put in it has only been one week of training with these 2 and they are already doing so great.

Betty and Dobble have been working hard with Patchy and Boo. Patch is the typical bull headed bully lol and Boo is a new rescue who was nervous of LIFE. Let's discuss the importance of muzzle training.

What are some reasons why muzzle training is so important and I believe often overlooked.

In life, especially when owning dogs, things will happen that we do not expect. Such as accidents and injuries. Where your typically nice friendly dog does not want to be touched and or bothered due to pain and fear and this may require needing to be muzzled so that your beloved dog can be properly evaluated and handled by your vet. Now, if your dog has never been muzzled, then you are adding another extremely stressful and scary situation to an already scary and stressful situation.

Another scenario is that your dog may love to be out and about but does not do well with many people or dogs around. So, rather than take the chance of an unnecessary bite, you could have your dog muzzled and advocate for your dog without the chance of something bad going on.

Routine Veterinary care can cause anxiety and fear in some dogs. Therefore, the vet may want he or she muzzled for the safety of themselves and their staff. So again, if your dog is properly muzzled conditioned, they are now comfortable wearing a muzzle, and it does not add another stress to an already stressful situation.

As you see here in the video of Rascal and his mom, Rascal really enjoyed muzzle training. With markers and reward, Rascal had a clear understanding of what we were asking for, and he had a lot of fun doing it. Before we knew it, Rascal had the muzzle on completely and was working his basic obedience with his mom.

Rascal really enjoyed this game of muzzle conditioning. After 10/ 15 minutes of marking and rewarding his snout in the muzzle, we were able to fully put it on and work some obedience without the stress of the muzzle.

It has been such a pleasure watching Harry grow. I have had the privilege of watching the relationship grow between Harry and his family, as I have been working with him since he was 12 weeks old.

Just recently we started Harry on the ecollar. Even the small humans in the house play a big role in Harry's training. Very cool to watch!

Today we went to Tractor supply to work Harry through some distractions. This was our first session doing so. Everyone was a Rockstar. A gentleman even told us "he was to calm". My reply was his family has put in ALOT of work with his training. It has sure paid off!

Bailey's first day if training. I would say she is doing pretty darn good. She came out of the shelter needing manners and I think she really just needed to be shown the way.

She is so......smart and eager to please!!! She is training for the next 3 weeks with us. Then she will be looking for someone to adopt her!

Welcome Patch and Boo to the Hopeful K9 Family.

We are working a few different things with these babies. Patch the pitty is working on manners and sensatizing him to the prong collar. Also teaching him to have a neutral disposition while with new sister Boo.

Boo lacks confidence as well as not knowing commands. We are going to build her confidence through basic obedience which is where/how she will learn things like sit, stay, place, come ect. Boo is afraid of many things so we are also helping guide her family and counter condition the things that scare her.

I am excited to see how these 2 build their relationship together as a pack over the next several weeks.

Zera and her mom have been working hard. Hard work pays off and certainly can been seen by your trainer.

Zera was struggling with place as well as maintaining a "stay" while put into a down or sit.

We left this session with Zera successfully going and staying on place, downing and sitting while Staying as we walked away. Great job guys!

Ollie was a fun boy to work with. He was originally trained by our friend Laura and Fiercely Loyal K-9, LLC. and came to stay with us a few days so we could reinforce the things he already learned.

Last night I had the privilege to work with chip and his handles Kyllie. We worked on engagement, charging his marker, serta (one of his bed commands) and leash handling. These 2 did an amazing job with all the information given to them. I am excited to watch this team grow!
