Mr Oscar will have been with us a month tomorrow. He has tripled his weight, regained mobility, and seems to be thriving. Thanks to everyone that takes the initiative to call one of us to give these lil critters a chance at life.

Meet Oscar. Oscar was found on the side of the road barely able to walk and carrying one leg. Extremely malnourished and dehydrated. We’ve spent the week rehydrating and trying to get some weight one him. He’s coming along nicely but has a long ways to go. Thanks to Jacob Hobbs for contacting me and saving this young fella.

Due to the recent local deer issues I have be asked a lot of questions regarding fawns and rehabbing them. AGFC does not allow us to take them in due to CWD. I know it’s sad and seems unfair and I agree with this, but I also at the same time understand. Momma deer leave their young for hours at a time but WILL come back to them if able.

If this disease spreads it will be detrimental to all the deer hunters in our area.

If you find a baby deer it more than likely is waiting on mom to come back and feed it. If ears tips are bent over then the baby is dehydrated and more than likely momma hasn’t been there in a while.
