Pupdate: Foster offer secured! Volunteer urgently needed to pick this baby up in Tornillo—we can cover gas money if needed!

We were made aware of this poor sweet pup who apparently has been there at the Tornillo Bridge for some time. Can anyone please help my offering to foster him so we can get him off the streets and into a warm home??

Sweet Floyd pupdate! Our latest Bridge Pup’s foster Yesi is taking excellent care of our senior angel boy! She says he’s coming out of his shell, showing his playful self and is eating more! The mass near his furry bum has gotten smaller and he’ll be going back to West Texas Cimarron clinic soon. Sweet Floyd is still available for adoption, so if you’re interested in having this gentle and loving old man to snuggle and cuddle, please let us know!

Friends, cutie little Venezuelan Emi is in need of a new foster (or better yet, a ride to Florida if you’re headed to the Orlando area!). She does great with other pups, kiddos, and she’s spayed! Can you let Emi stay with you until we get her to her family hopefully soon?? Food and supplies provided if needed!

Happy pupdate to brighten your day! Longtime followers might remember former Bridge Pup Khaleesi who crossed to El Paso from Juárez at the Paso del Norte Bridge back in April 2022. After seeing our post about her on Facebook (the same post is in our last photo here), a kind-hearted military wife whose husband was stationed at Ft. Bliss, .reneec reached out to offer to foster her. Khaleesi soon became a permanent part of their family alongside her pup sister Zelda and just last week, Khaleesi went to the beach for the first time! Here are their adorable family photos at Monastery Beach in Carmel, CA. From Juárez street pup to military brat pup! We love you Khaleesi and we’re so happy you got the best family that we knew you deserved! ❤️🐾🌴🌊

These 3 angel pups are currently at the PDN Bridge. I’m currently out of town, but if anyone can step up and get them, I’ll help with vet care and finding owners or fosters when I get back to El Paso in a few days. 🙁💔 —Ruby

Bridge Pup Emi is back home with her foster after getting spayed this morning thanks to our wonderful friends at the El Paso County Animal Welfare! A huge thank you to them and a huge thank you to our volunteer Vane Perez for picking up Emi (and my own furbaby gato Francesco!) and getting them to and from their appointments this morning!
Vanessa is a 5-star rated pup sitter on Rover and her son is also available to walk your puppers through his Walking with Wyatt business! I’ll put the links in the comments so please don’t hesitate to reach out to Vanessa or Wyatt for your pup-walking or sitter needs! They are Bridge Pup recommended! ❤️🐾

Pupdate: Volunteer secured! Thank you!

Hi all, Ruby here and I need some help from my El Paso community. Sweet Bridge Pup Emi has a spay appointment Monday morning but I’m really, really sick with either the flu or Covid(going to Urgent Care today, I feel just terrible). Could someone please help me out by picking up Emi in central and getting her to her appointment on Socorro Road and back? I’ll provide details if you’re able to help out. Thank you in advance 🐾❤️

URGENT foster (possibly also an adopter) needed for this sweet girl in El Paso! She’s not a Bridge Pup, but my aunt is trying desperately to help the finder of this pup who was found as a stray in the lower Valley on Pecan Street. She has a chip and is spayed, but the chip is not registered. Finder paid for the pup to get vaccinated. This pup girl is about 3-4 years old, gets along great with other pups, walks great on a leash, and apparently loves car rides. Her finder’s husband is disabled and they are unable to keep the pup for various reasons. If you can PLEASE open up your home and heart to this sweet girl, even if only temporarily, it would be a huge help!!!! We can provide food and supplies if needed! Please consider fostering or please Share 🙏🏽❤️🐾

Sweet sweet Floyd is back at his comfy foster home after his vet visit at West Texas Cimarron Canyon Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Diaz suspects the cyst might be a cancerous tumor but she wants to try a steroid to see if it’ll shrink it before we proceed further to treat it like cancer. She also prescribed an antibiotic and a med for his liver because his bloodwork showed his liver wasn’t doing too great. She also estimated his age closer to 10 years. Floyd did exceptionally well while being looked at and his foster says he seems used to getting in and out of cars and he also “howls” when he needs to go potty outside. These last details further our suspicions that sweet Floyd was indeed dumped at the Santa Teresa port of entry. 😔 Those days of being unwanted are long gone because we’re going to keep showing Floyd what love and care truly are! Thank you to his foster Yesi and thank you Dr. Diaz and team at West Texas Cimarron Canyon Clinic! Stay tuned for pupdates on this precious angel boy!

Our latest Bridge Pup Floyd is currently waiting patiently to be seen at West Texas Cimarron Canyon Veterinary Clinic because unfortunately, he’s got some sort of infection or cyst near his little furry butt. Here’s hoping it’s nothing serious! 🤞🏽❤️‍🩹 We’ll keep you posted! Thank you to his wonderful foster for noticing it and for taking him to the clinic!

El Paso-based veterinarian Dr. Abilene Gallegos needs help finding a forever family for this sweet boy. Here’s what she told me: “I don’t know his full story but he was posted on FB after being abandoned. He had ehrlichia and anaplasma from ticks. I treated him for a month and then just neutered him recently and I’ve updated all his vaccines. I would say he’s a little over a year. Super sweet boy with high energy, good snuggler, does well on walks and does ok with cats but not the best.” (Time and patience with cat introductions are recommended!)
Message us if you’d like to meet this sweet boy!

Update on yesterday’s Bridge Pup: Firstly, the pup is actually a boy, not a girl! He’s been snoozing, resting, eating, and he got a very much-needed bath at his foster’s house—thank you for being the safe and loving foster home he needed!
Thanks to the amazing local Rescuer Joy Dominguez and the kind-hearted vet Dr. Ken Waldrup, the pupper got his vaccines and a check-up. Dr. Waldrup assessed the pup as being much younger than we thought: maybe around 6 years old! But, due to his clear malnourishment and overall rough condition he looks much older than his actual age. The pupper has some lesions and cuts but he’ll be getting antibiotics thanks to Joy and Dr. W tomorrow. We’re so grateful for their kindness and help!!!!!
Lastly, I decided to give him a name that would honor my dear friend and part of the Bridge Pups family who is no longer with us in the earthly realm, Aaron Sweeney. Aaron would have graduated from UTEP yesterday and I attended the Winter commencement and witnessed the care and thoughtfulness that the Deans and University President put into honoring Aaron’s legacy and achievements. It goes without saying that he was on my mind and in my heart all day yesterday, and when I went to drop off the pup at his foster’s house, she had the exact same car (even the same color!) as Aaron’s. I’m not a spiritual person, but I like to think Aaron sent this Bridge Pup to distract me and from our grief. All this to say that the pup is now officially named “Floyd”, as Aaron’s favorite band was Pink Floyd! I have so many wonderful memories listening to them with him. Here’s to sweet Floyd getting stronger, happier, and hopefully soon adopted so he can Shine on like a Crazy Diamond! 🎶 🐾❤️🌵🌻🌚
