We are The Cowboy Elite Academy and we offer horse riding lessons, trail rides, barrel racing and roping lessons! Our lessons consist of teaching horse safety, grooming, saddling, round pen work, and riding. Children as young as 3 years old can start with lessons. We start at basic horse introduction and work all the way up to trail riding. We also teach teenagers and adults! If you always wanted to learn how to ride! We CAN HELP YOU OUT! We are currently taking new students for both. Also if you are interested in trail rides or having a holiday photo session with our horses let us know. We wanted to take some time to introduce one of our members from The Cowboy Elite Academy. Her name is Alexa, most of the time she is either assisting you via message or behind the camera, but we are happy to introduce her as one of our instructors as well! ⁣
⁣
Alexa has a big background in animal handling with both small and big animals. She earned her bachelors degree in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology from The University of Texas at El Paso and currently she is in veterinary school. While her time working as a biologist she was Field Operations Manager at a local non profit that focused on restoring the Chihuahuan Desert. She worked with many kids and she is happy to assist you and your little ones! ⁣

She enjoys trail riding, bronc riding and roping as well and she is FULLY bilingual. Make sure you say hi to her next time you see her! 👋 ⁣

As some you may know Levi is one of our stars here at the Cowboy Elite Academy. We want to thank everyone that showed up and took pictures with our mysterious rider and Levi. Ranch sorting is a western-style equestrian sport that evolved from the common ranch work of separating cattle into pens for branding, doctoring, or transport. Ranch Sorting is an event that pits a team of two riders on horseback against the clock.

Happy “Day of the Charro”! 🇲🇽

On September 14th we celebrate “El Día del Charro” in Mexico. This is a special day to commemorate every single person that participates in the art form of charrería. 🐎

This day was instituted by the president of Mexico, Adelardo R. Rodriguez in September 14th of 1934.

Our instructor Robert practiced charrería for 5 years. Make sure to congratule him next time you see him!

This weekend we worked in our confidence skill exercises. A great part of horsemanship and riding is building confidence. A confident rider = a confident horse.
