Update on the Leopards.
They all found new homes!

Though Barret has held a very special place on our hearts. He fought the hardest with missing his front foot and missing the toes on his back foot.
Being so malnourished he lost all pigmentation an the muscle mass behind his eyes making him unable to open them.
He is now the biggest cuddle bug and affectionate as can be. Loves to snuggle you whenever he is out of his enclosure. And absolutely LOVES his dubias.

Barret is a key example of why proper knowledge about an animal is needed before owning one. Not to house interspecies that are territorial and can be violent. Why proper heating and lighting is needed.
And why they need to have a staple diet and access to fresh water at all times.

Not only Barret, but the 4 other leopards Areith, Tifa, Yuffie and Soifon, had a hard start to their lives. But we are happy to say that they are now loving their best lives and this is their happily ever after.

The First and the most improved Leo..

This is 'Barret' him on intake day. Compared to now.
His color isn't a Mac Snow as we thought. He's a beautiful normal Leo.
He's put on a lot of weight. From 18g to 33g
He's appetite is amazing and he's a really affectionate boy.
Share some love of the little guy Barret!

On April 26th we picked up this crew of geckos.
All underweight and malnourished.
Two of these babies were in critical condition and we were worried that they would not make it.
From the female having shed skin suck dried in her throat and cuts and abrasions on her face.
The Male having a missing front foot and partial leg, and a rear foot missing a few toes.
The male was the worse one of the four and being at 20g (after we fed, gave a lot of water to try and rehydrate them, and bath soaks to help with their stuck sheds.) After when we did daily weights his true weight was of 18grams.
It is going to be a long road for these babies. But it will be worth it.

(We will be making an album to show the process and progress of these babies. After only just making this page we wanted to create their initial post)

15-gallon Bioactive enclosure for the WC Salamander was not in a location where they were living well and not in the best health when we got them. We were unsure they would even make it through the night, but it shocked us!
Now have a 6" deep dig space, copious amounts of food, live small fish also to eat, and a 3gallon pool to relax in.
Live water snails, moss, isopods, and some of our baby crickets we bred.
They have perked up well, gaining weight and maintaining a healthy appetite.

We are creating one of the bioactive enclosures for the Reptiles.

Why bioactive?
Bioactive provides more of a natural environment for the reptiles. I have real plants, isopod, and springtails as a clean-up crew. It also looks aesthetically pleasing.

Are they more work?
Yes.
You must also provide for your clean-up crew and Care for the vegetation you provide.
But if that is all things that you can do when they are well worth the investment.

Are they expensive?
They can be.
Depending on what you would like in the enclosure, they can get pretty pricy.
Currently, our enclosures mainly have pot plants as they are tough and easy to grow. Through water propagating them, they have been the easiest to create a quick growth while we save to get more vegetation!
There are various plant species that your animals can have, always do plenty of research before purchasing any plants for your enclosures!

Meet Soifon, the Tangerine Leopard Gecko!
When she came to us she was not eating very much. Not pooping and not wanting to come out of her hide. Two of those three things have changed! She's still not the most social but she is eating well and she has gained some more weight! She is such a beautiful mellow girl.
